I know he is and he's going to be a great one.  It's just unreal how some people on here can't see his wonderful potential.

Honestly, some of the bashing he's getting is completely ridiculous and a load of bollox. As I stated earlier, everyone was creaming it when United signed the relatively unknown Nani for 17 million, because for that price he had to be an amazing player, right? We've got twice the player that goat is for 11 million. Some people just can't count their blessings. I distinctly remembering Henry being w@nk for two seasons. I'm not saying he'll turn into a similar player, but this is just one example of a player all of a sudden exploding into a superstar, and I hope that no one comes on here and tells me they seen it coming with him when he first came to Arsenal, because they'd be talking shyte.

Babel frustrates me sometimes but look at Babel's physique. He is so powerful and fast. The only problem is he is raw and doesn't possesses the soft touch yet. He is still young but you also sees how effective he can be in a blink of an eye. Even though he mostly being a sub but he is probably the one that got us more penalty then the rest of the squad. He is very effective but also frustrated to watch sometimes. I mean if Babel is someone who is consistent and effective as Henry, he wouldn't only cause us 11million. Right now he gave us balance and someone who can be a game winner. Just give him some time.

emerald, to be fair, I haven't really seen babel 'bashing'  to the extent of the kuyt 'bashing'... most of the comments on here about babel IMO are fair criticisms about his weaknesses...no one is saying he's useless or he's :censored: or he just runs around like a headless chicken...  babel's got ability, no doubt about it... but he's no where near some people are making it out to be... he's got glaring weaknesses and IMO, he's starting from where he should be which is off the bench... once he comes on though he can be quite destructive to the opponents there's no doubt about that... but in order to become a first teamer, he really needs to work on his weaknesses, some of which are anticipation, awareness, decision making, concentration, finishing (if he wants to be an out-an-out striker), and his one dimensional dribbling...

I think he is successful as a sub and not as starters is due to the fact that when he is introduced in 2nd half he is there to do a job and that is to attack.stretch opposition and not required to track back and hold the shape of the midfield.. He is after all a striker..

No doubt he got tallent , he has proved that over last few years. I want to see him step it up now so that he can bed a first team spot.

I feel rafa thinks of him as a 21 year old no consistent player which may be true this is why he don't play every game but only person who can show rafa he is ready is babel.

I wouldn't mind seeing him start up from vrs stoke it would be perfect game to try this.I mean what could go wrong babel is a striker and those 2s pace would upset any defence in world let alone stoke. Not to mention Babel and torres are both good in air.

Maybe see a 4-3-3

           Gk
  Rb   Cb   Cb   Lb

     Dm     Dm

        Gerrard

Torres  Keane   Babel

That would be nice and them all inter changing.

Babel needs some games up front tho I  feel he has a point to prove to rafa( that he is a striker.)

If you watch that utube video mate of babel when he was played week in week out he had good touch he is clearly a confidence player and needs to feel like he is wanted then he shows his best.

Just like some other greats gazza , henery , ronaldo(brazilian) , Collymore.

Not all players form solid belief in there own skills like players like Torres , Gerrard , Carra.

I just feel when Babel has played no matter what you say about the little things he has done in games has the team not had good results so how can we sit here and pick holes in the small mistakes he does.

I am no fan boy of babel yes I like the lad but thats because I see past the small mistakes he does and I focus on the bigger picture which is a guy trying to make it at a massive club.Which has show us Pace , Power , Vision (at times) great skills , finishing and odd very good cross(this part of his game he is learning and not natural.)

I'm sorry mate but I only see pace, power, and the odd good cross... I don't see vision, great skills and finishing... his finishing looks spectacular when it goes in because of the pace he strikes the ball with (which coincidentally makes for a very good youtube compilation)... but he doesn't have the calculative finishing that an out an out striker has... now tell me if you watch bable's youtube compilation and torres' youtube compilation... on first glance you will be more awed by the former's...

You can't be serious, Woof?

:D , partly tongue in cheek mate, but Babel isn't as bad as some make out just as Keane isn't as good as some think he is.

Babel is one of our better players, far better than Benayoun and Kuyt.  It's ridiculous that some fans think hes not that good a player, utter nonense.  His appearances have been largely as a substitute and he has generally impressed me each time he has played.  He's young, he's not perfect, he will improve but only if he's a regular fixture in the team.

I understand why Kuyt is picked by Rafa, he works his nuts off but honestly he's got no attacking threat whatsoever.  Babel is superior in that sense and should be in the team at Kuyt's expense at least in our home fixtures.  Kuyt would be best used to defend a lead but as we know Rafa prefers caution first.

Why we as supporters desacrate our own players is beyond me, i hope this never spill onto the terraces as a player
could severly suffer with these types of negative views.

Why can we not focus on the good things instead of the bad all the time? i just think some people are petty little Fuckwits
who at the drop of a dime are only to quick to point out a players misgivings rather than a layers attributes.

exactly, they are the basics for a good footballer and Babel STILL hasn't learned from them.  Why do i compare him to Cisse?  Because of his one dimensional style and lack of concentration.
