I reckon he'll be gone by Monday with Kenny taking over.

Hope today is the last time we have the displeasure of him managing US at Anfield.

I in all my time as a Liverpool supporter, some 40 years now, have never been so embarrassed by the the way the crowd and forums have slated their manager in public, this certainly was not the Liverpool way to do things in years gone by and we are just a laughing stock IMO.I think the manager is out of his depth, but should be given the respect he deserves as he is manager of Liverpool Football Club and until the day he isn't lets support him and the team and not behave like the loons who frequent the J Kyle show!!  :(

The Liverpool Echo New Years Day

Despite his current predicament, Hodgson insists these aren’t the darkest days of his 36-year managerial career but he admits he’s been wounded by his side’s failure to perform and the avalanche of criticism that has come his way.

“Absolutely, of course, it hurts,” he said. “The day it becomes water off a duck’s back is the day when you don’t do the job.

“Management is about sadness or euphoria. There’s been a lot of sadness here so far but I’m confident that will change. We’re at a low point and I’m very disappointed that after coming here with high hopes six months on I find myself in this situation.

“This group of players are capable of doing an awful lot better than we’ve shown so far and it’s not been an easy ride for me with a lot of the problems I’ve had to deal with along the way.

“But three weeks ago everything was looking bright and fantastic and everyone was being positive.

“Suddenly after a defeat at Newcastle and a very bad performance against Wolves things have swung around enormously.
“I have to try to keep that in perspective, and use my experience and competency to steer the ship through these rough waters and hopefully get some placid waters ahead of us.

“I’ve been in worse situations than this – going into the last game of the season with Fulham we had to win at Portsmouth to stay in the league.

“I might have used it before but crisis is the wrong word at the moment. If we had beaten Wolves we would have been eighth with two games in hand.

“Let’s not forget that, let’s not make everything doom and gloom because we lost the game.

“It’s not a crisis situation but on Wednesday we let ourselves down very badly. We have to bounce back from that against Bolton and give a totally different performance.”

His excuse is long winded but in brief I think these extracts I  selected sum up his apparent apology and its validity

I'm sorry but these words speak volumes  about the man still believing he is at a club akin to Fulham
SIMPLY HAS TO GO ....

i'm in absolute agreement with you that he has to go, rbg mate. but i don't see where he's likening us to fulham in this statement, and i also think its probably true that staring relegation in the face is worse than what he's going through right now.

its pretty much unanimous now that he has to go and the sooner the better, so i don't see the point in making such interpretations in order to further the case against him.

Thank you for this sensible and balanced post. I too am fed up and disgusted with all the negative and pointless criticism which can only damage the team.

Andy mate anyone who wrongs the club I have followed man and boy  ,will be subject to my relentless  pursuit ....I am as a rule less forgiving than most (That much I genuinely  hold my hands up to ) .... I understand your concern ,but I don't see how the man has done anything to warrant your empathy ....

I am as shocked at the vociferous minority that are simply militant anti-fan thugs as I am at the ineptitude of the team, tactics and torres.

Kenny Dalglish today urged everyone connected with Liverpool Football Club to pull together and get 2011 off to a positive start.

The Club Ambassador feels there must be a collective focus upon this afternoon's meeting with Bolton and is confident the three points can be achieved if the Reds head into the game with a united front.

Dalglish said: "Let's just press the pause button and throw all our efforts and energies into one basket.

"Everyone - whether players, supporters, staff or whatever - has to throw everything towards the one aim and that is to get us three badly needed points from the game against Bolton today.

"Because if everyone sticks together we'll have a better chance of getting those three points."

He added: "If everybody does their job properly; if everybody sticks together; if the players excite the fans and the fans support the players and everyone is led in one direction, then we should get the result today.

"But without everybody being on the same page, it will make it a bit more difficult."

Roy was put in place as a firefighter manager. going on what he dont last year with no money the club saw it as the way to go.
i have said before i think he knew he was not going to be here for years and years, but i do feel he has not been given the chance to build a team at the club, we was a club that always gave our managers a chance to do that, but times have moved on in the media world we live in.

Last game was the worst I have ever seen a LFC side play. Today we are playing brilliantly compared to that which says a lot when you are down one goal at home to Bolton.

Roy please just go and take the rest of the :censored: with you back to Finland or whereever you might go. This man is not even worth insults anymore.. that's how bad it is.

The players seem to get on really well with Roy.. I dont have faith in him but the fact that the players do is a small ray of light for me
