the perfomance tonight was yet again good and more players are now impressing:

Carson-played well made a few decent saves nearly saved the penalty looks on form 7

Medjani - a player houiller signed never played rafa given him a chance a got to say i like him looks a good player, preferred him RB to CB cos made to many mistakes 7

Josemi - a consistant game looked ok but needs to improve on attcking side when going forward but played well at CB 6

Hyypia - showed his class throughout and his good football brain to hold off rivaldo 8

Riise - played well specially going forward looked purposeful but didn't link up well with garcia 7

Potter - played well out on the wing put some good crosses over and got in hard plays better when he comes through the middle buts improving 7

Hamann - played his role well made some good interception but didn't have his best day today 6

Gerrard - always wanted the ball linked up well, showed us his class with some flicks and long balls will just saved himself a bit for wednesday 7

Garcia - looked good on the ball with some good flicks seemed to work well with crouch and is continuing his scoring strike with a good goal 7

Cisse- looked electric on the ball seems to be continuing his good form put some decent crosses in down the right and movement was good 7

Crouch - a decent debut we have seen what rafa wants him for some good link up play and decent run for the goal, a shame his goal was disallowed 7

second half team:
carra - looked his brillaint best just rested today cos of the game on wed 7

whitbread - keeps on impressing me with his assurance at the back conceded a penalty but the greek made a meal of it but do we need a CB give this lad a chance think he's hyypia in the making 7

warnock - gets better everytime he plays, a hard tackler and has great feet showed us his attacking strength with a great cross, works well with zenden. do we need a LB? 8

Sissoko - seen today why he's named the nxt viera showed us his energy, tough tackling and his passing when he assisted baros 2nd goal. 8

Alonso - as toshack said could and will be a anfield legend his first pass of the game showed this a 60 yard long ball right to zendens feet. A magician on the ball, that pass to baros for the 1st goal of the second half was just class. 9

Zenden - wasn't his best game and seems to hold on to the ball a bit too long but is still improving his fitness and game 7

Morientes - scored a great goal was linking up well with midfield, but still missses the chance the one where he tried to take the keeper when he should of hit it first time but if baros stays can expect a lot of goals from him. 8

Baros - was he playing, because the new one was absolutery brilliant 2 good goals and 1 assist. Has definatley but his case to be in the starting line up and to stay he has improved his game so much we can't sell him now. 10

le tallec - didn't really have that long but had a few good touches 6

Carson-fluffed a simple punch out, left a long range shot go that was very close to the post, not impressed by the big decisions from him. go to the dentist will yer ! 7

Medjani - I like this fella.  he got good agility for his age, and i can see him as back up for RB in the near future.  7

Josemi - i miss seeing him take out men with his erratic defending, needs a haircut!  6

Hamann - played his role, looked like peters older brother. ganglt statuesque.  but is good against top teams.6

Gerrard - too many hoof balls, trying to be a hero, was overshadowed AGAIN by alonso i the 2nd half. wheres his forehead ? 7

Garcia - looks like losing the ball everytime someone closes down on him.showed awareness, but can't hack it doen the left wing, cant defend.pranses around like a girl most of time  6

Cisse- looked electric on the ball. goes too far outwide, becomeing a winger.  should do what Baros and stay inside right. sort that yello fluff out huggie bear 7

Crouch - gangly and akward, can't see him being a number for 3 years. nice finish disallowed. Mistook him for the post when we got a corner 5

second half team:
carra - Didn't notice him. did a good job then 6

Sissoko - rough in the pass, doens't seem in control. BUT is harder than SG and stronger. assist toono nearer to viera, and it rhymes 7

Zenden - tries to take on the defender but hasn't the pace to beat his man. can provide good crosses though cut that hair beach boy clog 7

Baros - brilliant 2 good goals and 1 assist. nuff said.what a player this lad is, pure joy to watch 10
