Football is no longer the sport it used to be. Like any other commodity it is exploited and cleaned dry. You only have to look at whats happened too Man Utd as a prime example of how too much money in sport is bad.

Am i right in saying that there used to be wage caps unitl Jimmy Hill kicked up fuss. Im sure it was him.

Barajas top old Aimar is still only 24, the only other Valencia player i woul dlike to see as much as Aimar is Vicente. But he will be more harder to prize

Just saw on SkySports that Steven Gerrard was at Melwood for training....

Also heard that the agent will get a big sum of money if Gerrard is sold.

why are the players named complete ? aimar, vicente, joaquin, baraja so we cant afford any of these players with the gerrard money?

I saw this bloody situation coming, its sad to say but I knew something wasn't right.

EVERYTIME i watch the CL footage at home (please watch it to evaluate yourself too!!!) and just before SG picked up the cup and even when receiving his medal he didnt seem happy. Only when he kisses the cup does he begin to smile a bit.
Look dont get me wrong, i have tried to look at it in many different lights, such as:

*Maybe he was still in shock after such a comeback

*He has matured and is doing his captains role (i say this because just after he receives his medal he's sorta looking around for Rafa(i think!) and the coaching staff, sorta making sure everyone gets their medal and is in place etc;).

*IS IT JUST ME (this was the light i wanted to look at it from, as it left the oppurtunity for him to stay).

But the more and more i watch the footage the more i see the following:

*Poor body language from SG, FFS this is your greatest acheivement (to put this in perspective, look at the faces of EVERY player that is up their {even more so the guys that DIDNT play eg; Josemi} to receive their medal, SG (along wid Carra) should be the MOST happy person there, he is Liverpool born and bred, the CAPTAIN of his boyhood heroes, The catalyst for the comeback, HE SAID he wanted to win trophies and now is seconds from lifting the BIG ONE, but does he smile NO, does he look happy NO. So ok he cheers and seems happy as he lifts it, but c'mon you'd have to be in yer death bed to not have some emotion of course!!

*The unhappy look before he kisses the trophy seems to me to be like - 'For F.ucks Sake, I have only gone and won the f.ucking cup, thats effed up my plans......Ooohh what am i gonna do, oh s.hit i better give this cup a kiss and keep up the pretense'

*The way he runs off with the cup and the look he has on his face, this like stern face that says to me - I AM THE MAN!!  Is it me or does he hold onto the cup JUST a little bit too long, I mean it is a team game!  And why the hell did he get to SLEEP with the cup, I bet everyone thought 'yea let him sleep with it, keep him happy and he will stay'.....Im sorry but that YES he was the catalyst for the comeback but HE DIDNT do it all himself, there were many factors, just that he was probably the BIGGEST.

*Same poor body language on the parade, just seemed unhappy...WHY???  I just dont understand!!

I really am tired of it all now, He was offered contracts at three seperate times through the season and he says 'WAIT', who the hell is he to say that, and now expect the club to JUMP when HE says jump and also how high...P.iss off.

I want players that want to be here, if not then just GO, dont try and hold this great club to ransom, like many have already said in this thread, we have lost great players (or liked players, in the case of owen!!  ) in the past and moved on, it is not a problem, especially if there is a big windfall of money in exchange.

I have said it in many a post before, that although Gerrard is A TOP CLASS player, he has some sort of attitude problem, a big-time charlie if you like, and ever since his season of 03/04, he has begun to beleive his own hype - thus had a poor Euro 2004, considered leaving, tells us to wait, plays poor except for maybe five full games (in playing time that is, because he didnt DOMINATE any ONE game this season for the WHOLE game), says 'the balls in Liverpools court', he is just taking us for fools, the club and fans.

It has to stop, this is NOT the way LFC is run, we do not adhere to DEMANDS from anybody (taxman may be an exception though  ), its like SG is the wife beater and LFC is the stupid wife who keeps going back for more and never learning her lesson.

Alonso is more of a key player to Liverpool than SG, I dont care what anyone says, he has it all (as does SG), but his brain and maturity (for someone younger than SG) are unbeleivable and will get better, MUCH better. I know we will lose that hometown spirit that SG brings, but CARRA has enough for ten men. Im sure that everybody would take a few PL titles and lets say another CL win, as long as the quality is there to do it, we would ALL be happy, it is about WINNING, not about hometown players (Though i know the fans need to be able to 'relate' to their team, but that is a whole new topic!! so I'll keep it to SG for now).

SG a great player - yes, SG a great man - not too sure anymore

Micheal Owen all over again, its going to go up and down up and down, you can be sure if he starts on the bench against TNS he is going. I have no doubt in my mind that is going to make or break it. If he is sold he will not have the same impact he does with Liverpool, I remember the tsunami relief game where he looked like he was lost the whole match, he would not prosper anywhere but England, unfortunately Chelsea would buy him in a second then do nothing with him.

gota agree there liverpoolanytime something just hasnt seemed right with gerrard for a long long time and no matter what we do it hasnt changed he has been taking us all for fools for ages and i hate being made to look a fool i say if he wants to get let him go now and take the money i dont want players who arent fully commited to a club and think they are better than everyone else

Someone said oh lets buy Ronaldino yer ok  , just cause the Valencia players played great in Spain doesnt mean they will in the prem, talk about realistic signings like Michael ballack coming in to replace him, not world class super stars costing 30 40 million pound each.

lol ok yeah thats far over the top      i didnt notice that bit but the others arent and u said that the spanish players might not play good in the prem well then ur basically saying why buy any player from other countries because they may not play well here With the money we could get we should be buying top class players to strengthen the squad a lot

Even Gianluca Vialli said that he didnt look happy when he was getting the medals. Viallia said he looked as if "he was about to make a big desicion"....and what the hell was that "its looking good" malarky after the match. An average team ahs just won the biggest trophey in the Europe in the first season what more do you want. I think SG's mind has been made up for a while. There just trying to use RB and RP as a scapegoat and make up some bull excuse. Rick Parry denies any such claims about money problems.

It's good for you if you have either seen or read for urself but keep in mind that no everyone has skysports and not everyone is from uk. so please think before posting.
