I vote we give him two more seasons at least then send him out on loan for the final year of his contract. We'll have to pay most of his wages obviously, but whichever Italian club takes him can at least supplement the last 18 months or so of his contract before he leaves on a free. Fecking Parry

Another season - autumn? Sell him in spring?

He might be another of those that is on good money and we can't shift because we overpay him and they don't want to move for less. We just have to keep hoping someone wants him, but it's not a position of strength we're in as he isn't playing and people will guess we want rid.

I see villa snapped up Warnock, English and sold for £1.5m while we signed Dossena for £7m. Parry's fault................?!?!

Yes I saw that. Scouse and not called Nealanio Warnockio. A fatal combination as far as his Liverpool prospects were concerned.

his prospects were more fatally damaged by not being good enough

Not good enough? Perhaps. Better or worse than Dossena? Fit more often than Aurelio? You decide.

well he was third choice behind riise and aurelio at the time of his departure , also not forgetting he was also plagued with injuries early on with numerous leg breaks but thats just minor stuff he was off course sold by parry because he was english .

Fecking Parry  As it happens though, I was under the impression that the "leg breaks" came before he actually broke into the team.

Whatever though, there's no question in my mind that at the time he was sold he wouldn't have been our first choice left back. That said, is there a possibility that players we haven't paid a fee for are sold on more readily than players which we have ??? Was Warnock waited with for instance as much as babel and Lucas have been, was he given the same opportunities as say Kuyt was?

I think often young local players are seen as decent ways to bring funds in. They can be sold under the cover of darkness as they didn't cost feck all and they boost the balance sheet. One things for certain, whether or not Warnock was good enough is debateable, but he was 100% a better player then than Dossena is now, and as he has developed there is today absolutely no comparison. It is my guess that if he were still at the club, he would certainly be starting against Bolton put it that way.

Ah the old "make em out to be anti-foreigner" routine, always a useful fall back position. just to clarify, my bone of contention is that sometimes local players aren't given a fair crack of the whip. it doesn't then follow that I hate foreigners, you can do better doc.

Was just thinking about the Doss... For me he offers more going forward than Insua at the moment.. Personally i would pick him ahead of Insua, get him in the shop window and offload in January. If he plays well great, if he does only as good as Insua what have we lost?

How long is Fabio out?

yes he is better than dossena there is no argument there but there was also a gap of 18 months between them at the club so dossena had no effect on warnock leaving . Warnock played for us on numerous occasions and if i remember rightly he was sold because he wanted to play first team footie more regularly as opposed to being sold for not being good enough squad player , same sort of reason that crouch was sold , both would be perfect squad players and but neither good enough to be a constant first team pick barring injuries and neither wanted to keep bench warm waiting for their chance when they could both get regular first team footie elsewhere so where sold on . And warnocks injuries happened both before he broke into first team and during .

Your as bad as me crazy, you've forgotten how bad he actually is mate. I was thinking earlier we could give him a go, but then I remembered some of his earlier efforts and I had to have a lie down.

Don't see all the fuss about Warnock. We sold him for £1.5m and he's not improved much since then imo.

In the case of Warnock we cannot blame Parry; it was a mixture of the Crouch and Keane case all together. Warnock wanted first team football, and the next season, IIRC, he criticised Rafa's methods big time, especially rotation.

On Lucas, if I may be a bit controversial football wise, I understand that there were anti Lucas people 1 month ago (look at the old thread starter for instance) and that's ok as it's a matter of opinions, but it písses me off a bit to read that Lucas can't play to replace Alonso as if it was an obvious thing. Well if it is that obvious it should have been obvious aswell before the season start, and I didn't see that obviousness 1 month ago.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking all the time of the world for Lucas, this must be his season, I'm just asking not to write him off after two defeats as if he was the only culprit.

Am I missing something by this 'fecking Parry  ' business?

Is it supposed to be funny?  Or a dig at someone?  Or one of those 'in-jokes' that isn't really a joke but people think it's hilarious?  It's getting a bit old whatever it is.
