I do realise he is currently a weak link but what does us recognisng it solve aside from have reasons to slate when he does perform badly? Are you or ace Rafas right hand man, do you advise him? It's Rafa who needs to realise this but with the state of our teams finances added to the fact that we probably would be lucky to get half of what we paid for him if we sold him I don't see a point in always slating him. Come next season thugs may have changed but always banging the same drum is boring.

But by all means if it makes people like you feel better to see others also acknowledge this then please continue to whinge to your hearts content. Maybe even make a wish to the tooth fairy. You never know if you moan hard enough your wish might just come true.

Ha ha
Maybe its you who believes in the tooth fairy?
If you accept that Lucas is good enough, based on his performances over the last two years, to push, drive or help us to win the league you are in cloud cuckoo land.
He has had time
He has had chances
He is at best average and at worst a liability. If he put a run together of say, five games, where he was outstanding, not good or very good, OUTSTANDING, then I would reconsider my opinion.
I will bet anyone now any money that this will not happen
Simply because the player is not good enough. I can think of at least three players Rafa has let go who are as good as if not better than Lucas in his position. I can think of five in the league at the moment.
He is not the only weak link but he is one of the most crucial.

Did you not read my post mate I was agreeing with you I know he isn't good enough. At least in the holding role he looks like a headless chicken but when he has played a slightly more advanced role he has done ok. But we are stuck with him.

And yes I believe in the tooth fairy, and Santa for that matter

He isn't the only one. We are also stuck with Voronin, Babel and Dossena who we came close to offloading this summer had it not been for him being too greedy to negotiate terms with Napoli.

Having said that we won the European Cup in 2005 with what could arguably be described as our worst team ever of all our teams that won it in the past (team at the peak of their powers) so you never know.  :;):

Bav your list of questionable Rafa bargain buys on the Rafa thread was a tad on the very short side whilst your list of Rafa :censored: buys seems to be on the increase. I know I am having a go at Rafa. I pay my dues and that gives me entitlement to do so. Some of Rafa's :censored: awful buys and tactical decisions are worthy of some heavyweight criticism.

Rafa is the one who bought him and insists on playing him when clearly he isn't good enough.

We should be questioning Rafa not criticising Lucas.

Glood point but many seem to think he is beyond criticism!

I wouldn't say that.

Hyppia of 2005 is way better than skertel and agger version 2009

Hamann of 2005 is way way better the mascherano and lucas version 2009

Baros  :buttrock & Cisse were way way way way better than Kuyt, Ngog & Voronin

Riise is much better than Insua & Dossena. He is also a goal threat.

Yeh baros of 2005 is way better than Torres of 2009

Smicer of 2005 is way better than yossi of 2009

Finnan of 2005 is way better than Johnson of 2009

 .. give me a f*cking break, if they were better then surely we wouldn't have gotten 5th place in 2005 opposed to 2nd in 2009

Great.....the way you have compared the best we had to offer back then compared to our worst we have now,it does not make for a great debate really does it?
In fact it only cements one thing...You spelt your name wrong...It begins with a C....come on tell the truth..the R was a typo? :nod

spot on mate! you said it before i had the chance to. sums him up for me- just to state i will leave it at that,i will just have to agree to dis-agree with anyone who thinks he is good enough for LFC.

i really want him to do well, but i'm affraid for me iv'e run out of patience with him,he's had in the past great opportunity's to prove himself an now has a golden opportunity to prove doubters like me time & time again he is worth a regular place an everytime has failed to deliver.

one last thing though, as much as i don't rate Lucas, i would never boo him during or after any game,an to hear any booing towards him would totally out of order.
