Wouldn’t mind seeing a Crouch and Kuyt combo, think it will work better than some thing, with Kuyt buzzing all over the place and Crouch the more stationery striker setting the shape and being the pivotal point of the team.

absolutely. If we don't win this one then I'm sorry to say that CL will be the only option this season and may be FA and UEFA cups.

Trying to predict the team this year seems to be a waste of time, so what I will say, is that if fit - Benitez will start with Alonso, Sissoko & Gerrard. It'll also be interesting to see if Crouch is recalled in place of Bellamy as last season, Crouch caused havoc and scored against Newcastle in both games.

I'd take 1 nil right now as well, although 3 or 4 would be nice for the confidence.

I wouldn't think Benitez is going to name an unchanged side. I'd say he will bring Crouch back into the side after his performances against them last season with Bellamy starting up front with him. Gerrard will move back to the right with Sissoko and Alonso in the center. Surely Gonzalez will play on the left? I'd fancy his pace running at the Newcastle would give them trouble.

Anyway its a must win game and i don't care in what style or fashion we win it by as long as we do, Given out for them is a big plus. Things aren't as bad as some are making out imo, we are only 5 points off the mancs and Chelsea if we win this game and with 33 games left then its hardly uncatchable. Hopefully Chelsea will get hit with a points deduction after the show last night and i fancy Man Utd to struggle a little now, losing to Arsenal was a blow and with Giggs out for 3 weeks and Rooney out of form they will be relying on Saha, although admittedly that isn't such a bad thing in the form he is in right now.

Anyway come on you reds lets get the season rolling against the barcodes!  :buttrock

Thank f.uck he's gone.

No news on Riise probably be back next week against Gala?
Im so nervous about tonight, anything else than 3 points will be a major dissapiontment, they team has improved since Rafa took charge, think Crouch will get his place back tonight, Crouch and Kuyt would be great.
And I hope Gonzales is better now and he plays, and we give the Toon army a headache plus a mauling.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
