Kenny Dalglish claims the Reds can get back into the title race if they continue the form shown in recent weeks.
The Kop legend admits his former club has a mountain to climb in the Premiership but insists there is still a long way to go.
"In the Premiership we go from strength to strength and now have to be regarded as the form team in the country," Dalglish told LFC Magazine.
"Both top sides are dropping points, or look like they might, so we have to retain a positive outlook.
"I'm not going to make any outlandish statements, but so long as we keep winning games and scoring goals we'll be a danger to anyone.
"With the big three to come to Anfield in the New Year, we might still have a lot to play for in the league, certainly more than some people are suggesting."
Dalglish believes the form of Xabi Alonso, Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuyt has been paramount in Liverpool's upturn in fortunes.
However, he reckons the most impressive performance during the 3-0 demolition of Charlton came from Welsh striker Craig Bellamy.
"The movement and attacking verve at Charlton were both superb, and I felt it was encapsulated by Bellamy.
"His movement was excellent and he gave the Charlton defence water on the brain. They couldn't get near him."

I agree with every word the Legend says. If we keep this run of wins up, perhaps even get 4 or more points out of the top 3 matches at Anfield, I believe we can catch up to Sh!tski and Manure.
I mean it's been done before if i recall correctly. I think Dalglish was the manager for that season and we was dozen or so points behind
If anyone can correct me would be great and also what your opinions are on the matter?
