Is he supposed to stop working or leave the country when we fire him from the job?

I guess Kenny isnt much of a liverpool fan either as he managed both Newcastle and Blackburn.

I don't care where he goes, but it was amusing when the pro-rafa brigade came out last week claimed that Rafa would NEVER go to Chelsea....only to see him on the box today saying how much he respected Chelsea and he could help transform them into a European cup winning team

anyway, we're getting off topic...there's a Rafa chelsea thread for that talk.

i stand by my earlier comment that Kenny's struggling big time and, at present, doesn't appear to know his best team or how to turn things around

However, away from that,  our situation is dire and i make no appologies for pointing out the fact that our manager is struggling.
Today we played the worst game of football i've seen in years, and Kenny has come out and said we were "unlucky".

I've seen how some fans can turn on managers and I don't want to see that happen. But mostly I think there are better options out there to take us forward and as a club we need to use our heads.

Would you care to name these options?

Big no for me

He has lifted the place again and all the players are singing his praise. We just need a goalscorer and one or two more adjustments and we will be fine. We are not as bad as many people think.

If the owners think the same is another thing!

that happens though, especially early on in managers reigns, it`s when it happens 4 or 5 years in thats when you start to really worry.
we are on a terrible run but i think the foundations of a good side are there.
the keeper is as good as there is around, the back 4 (johnson, skrtel, agger, enrique) when everyone is fit looks quite good and we have some good young players coming through in defensive positions as back up (kelly, coates, flanagan, robinson).
in terms of the midfield we probably do need to bring someone creative in but we do have some good players already at the club, we have probably the best defensive midfielder in the country in lucas and gerrard can still do a job, henderson will improve as he gets older too.
i`d bring aquilani back too for next season.
up front we have one of the best players in the world in luis suarez and carroll is improving too.
i think this summer liverpool need to bring creative 2 players in and they need to be the finished article, we have enough potential at the club, we need players that can deliver now.
we are not a million miles away from being a very good side, the problem is we have been saying that for 20 years, but the fact remains that 2 very good signings could transform us.

The problem is that those "2" signings should had been made last summer.
It is not reasonable to expect that our owners is going to bankroll the manager each summer and just whipe away the fact if lots of money is wasted.
Most likely not much will happen this summer and instead the owners will expect a  return on those 100 million spent last year.

i`d agree with some of that, we bought potential last summer when we probably needed to sign a couple of players who were the finished article, when we signed carroll and henderson they were 22 and 21, it`s unrealistic to expect players of that age to grab the team by the scruff of the neck and lead it to CL qualification.
i think the club got a bit obsessed with this stats based moneyball malarky and buying players who had re-sale value and not buying players at the end of their career`s etc.
i wouldnt say the money is wasted though, when carroll and henderson reach their mid to late 20`s they will be very good players

I voted no.  Getting us back into the top four let alone challenging for the title is a LONG project and will not be completed in just over one year.  We need stability and patience, and whoever is manager right now need three to four seasons at least to rebuild a shocking squad back to what we had around 05-07.

What we are seeing now is the legacy of H&G coming home to roost, and even if Kenny was the God like figure we think he is he would need longer.  Changing now would mean starting again, with another season of major squad changes, new back room staff, and lots more "bedding in".

Having said all of that, today was shocking and far below the levels expected from any LFC team or manager.  I want Kenny to get the time he needs, and despite hating today, I'm prepared to give it to him.  It would take a disastrous run of results, and more importantly performances to change my mind.

Roy was doomed before he started, and at the time was the only guy willing to take the job. We've now got Kenny and he's transformed us into Newcastle

it's bloody hard to attrcat the elite and very best players you need when you've got no european football to entice them with at all, let alone champions league football. i mean the number of times i've heard fans bring up the carroll/aguero argument is futile, especially when you consider that aguero's wages are triple what carroll gets paid.

i do wonder about our scouting network though, especially in comparison to newcastle's for example who have gone out and found cisse, tiote and cabaye for £20m, not to mention ba for free. absolute steal that. comolli has a lot of convincing to do in most fans eyes. even at spurs for every bale and berbatov there was a taino and prince boateng.

no one expected us to sign Aguero...but i refuse to believe that we couldn't have signed better. we should have bought PROVEN players for the money we spent, not hopeful prospects.

But that is why I am saying!
Newcastle can go out and find better players for a fraction of what Kenny spent.
Even though Aguero's of this world are not possible you can get much better value of you look outside the borders...
He blew it so far with transfers and have to try and get the best of what he bought and hope it will pay of because I'll eat my hat if the owners decide to bankroll us for another summer
to patch up what he did wrong.
