This argument about players needing time only applies to poor or young players (like Lucas). Established players with big price tags should be able to fit into the team and perform from day one, sure it might take time for them to get to 100% but they shouldn't be for a whole year before they remember how to cross a ball or score a goal!

So like Ronaldo, Drogba, Dzeko, Schevcenko, Veron et al then?

Ronaldo was a yong player when he arrived at Manure, I'd put him in the same category as Lucas for us. Veron and Schevchenko just didn't work, they never came good but then they both came form different leagues. Dzeko I thought was pretty good form the start but I don't really know to be honest.
My point was about established high money Prem players and that they really should not need a year to acclimatise.

City haven't changed their manager in over 3 years, they stuck with Mancini even when he paid over 100m on player and still got 5th place in one of the seasons. But his Man City team gradually improved.

You've clearly glossed over my comments about the quality of Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Gerrard, Suarez (7 good enough to be in the starting 11 of a top 4/title chasing side). I'm happy with Kenny, im happy with 7 of the first XI, as well as the likes of Bellamy and Maxi.

In case you hadnt noticed we are sitting in 7th place, cant buy a goal, have 4 wins at home and its almost February. Of course the focus will be on why (and its clearly because something is wrong). My critique has almost solely focused on the british signings, there are no other real issues.

Sacking Kenny would be a shocking decision when you look at the bigger picture.  We're doing a fair bit better in the league than we were this time last year.  We've also gotten further in both domestic competitions and are still going strong in each.   We have one of the best defences in the league and are a very difficult side to beat.  We're stronger at LB than we have been for years and our academy is a lot stronger than it was with players like Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson and Spearing fighting for positions and proving they can do a job if neccesary.  We've also signed other young talents like Shelvey, Hendo and Coates. 

The only negative for me has been the signings of Downing and Carroll.  They haven't performed for us yet and at a cost of 55M I really expected more.  Hopefully our owners will be patient though.

I think kenny is still stuck in the past a bit, his way of thinking is when Lfc where top of the pile a
majority of our players where British and where the best of the best.

Downing and Carroll are, in my view, some of the worst players EVER to wear the shirt. That's 55 million...then there's Henderson who's at least 12 months away from being good enough for a regular start...that 70 million...then adam...78 million. Bang...best part of 100 million gone.

Brilliant, eh?  All building up to our battle with Stoke for 7th place

How did you go from 55 mil to 100 mil because Henderson is a flop because he is a young player still developing ? Very strange random logic.

I actually don't think any of them have flopped yet as they need minimum a season so no wasted money yet .

As for your question - Every single manager has wasted money on ayers who didnt work out.

why do Carrol and Downing need a season to get used to playing in the Prem, you'll have to explain that one to me, are they not supposed to be good players who were used to the pace of the prem etc?
I think Henderson has potential but at the moment he gives us very little, the only 2 good signings are Enrique and Suarez, Adam is ok and Bellamy offers a few minutes here and there.
I'm not aware that Kenny has bought any defenders so far, apart from Coates who is a junior player imo.

Players need time to adjust to a new club as well as expectations . Both Downing and Carroll IMO have shown they have ability to do well in the prem - both have scored goals and created goals but currently both are suffering with a massive loss of form and a very big lack of confidence - they maybe suffering arriving at a big club and need time to adjust .

Carroll arrived injured and didn't get over it fully for a while. You can see he is so low on confidence currently and we need to build it up .

So why didn't Young need time at Manure, or how about Parker at Spurs, or Aguero at Man City, plus I seem to recall both Torres and Suarez hitting the ground running for us when they joined, despite coming from different leagues. I don't think anyone wants Kenny sacked, people are just a bit angry because most of our expensive signings seem worthless and because of Kenny's somewhat weird tactics.

Getting rid of Kenny is not an option, our style of play has been a vast improvement on last year, and we create lots of chances, bar the last game a Stoke. I have to admit that I am bemused by some of the selections, especially of late, for example the line up at Stoke and the players rested for the league only to play in the FA cup.

My main gripe with his methods are that he keeps persisting with 'his' players and ignores those who are performing such as Maxi, and even Kuyt who would still do a better job on the right than Downing. Also he should play them in their correct positions, Johnson on right back, Henderson in th middle, downing on the left.

The biggest up has been signing Carroll, the more I see of him, the clearer it is that he s a very poor excuse for a footballer, rubbish touch and zero athleticism, and to top it off a cr@p attitude; my feeling is tht he will never come good. The sooner Kenny takes the hit and gets rid the sooner we can start moving up the table.

Right now I totally agree.
But if this drivel will continue on for the rest of the season and Kenny persists with "his" buys then I'd put him on a short leash the coming season....

His "british revolution" is ancient thinking and the quicker he realizes his mistake the better off we are. If not we are ******.
