Kids don't come in and shine straight away, I'm not judging him yet. To get better he will make mistakes and learn from there, that's the way it goes. There's potential there, it just needs channeled properly
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Was hoping he would go out on loan this window, but as Meireles is gone, he'll have to be one to step up.

Yeah potentially an opportunity for Jonjo to step up now.  Him and Spearing will be our only CMs on the bench.

I agree, the same can be said about all of the kids that were forced into the lineup last season besides Kelly/Spearing.  Jay is good enough to make the bench here and there, not regularly though.  Hope people realize that Robinson and Flanagan will see VERY little playing time next year barring injuries.

I think fullback positions are probably the least important in modern day football... You could get away with having one average fullback in most games... I actually quite like Robinson and think him and Kelly should slowly be integrated to the squad this season...

Flanagan did okay overall I would say but I personally think the other two have better chances of becoming regular starters over time.

On Shelvey, I'd love to see him get some regular football for any other side. Hes decent in some departments but severely lacks in others. Perhaps a Championship side with some stability and a decent manager could do him good...

WOW!

On the contrary the fullback position is one of the most important positions in modern day football!
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

The lads gone on loan to Blackpool until the 31st December 2011.  Lets hope he'll get plenty of games and experience.

Good move. He can't even get minutes off the bench here.

Was hoping he would get a chance this season in the 1st team with rent boy 2's deperture to Chelsea. I thought he done ok when given the chance before. He is probably still a bit raw but I hope he does come back. Can't think of too many who have gone on loan and made it back into the 1st team here.

we wont miss him to be honest, never really rated him. He may come back stronger and better but I think at Blackpool he's found his level

i'll be honest and admit i don't rate him.

But, he's young and hopfully will develop into a better player whilst on loan.

I think you need to wait and see mate, my neighbour is an avid Blackpool fan  :p  watched them since they were in the 4th division and he says Shelvey has been fantastic this season and absolutely controlled the game against Bristol City. Apparently he's on a 3 month loan but they're desparate to keep him til the end of the season.

I'd let him stay, if he learns how to control a game from the centre of the field for a whole season then its a win-win situation for Liverpool.

Edit: for example - next week they play West Ham, that'll be great experience if he's Blackpool's key man.

Listen I rate Shelvey and think the loan will benefit him and us in the long run.

but I had to laugh at

he says Shelvey has been fantastic this season

He's only played one game for them.
