I'm one of his biggest fans but if his heart is not in it than he can feck off...... next season.

This is a world cup season. If he doesn't pull his finger out, then he can rot in the reserves..... let' see him get into the Argie world cup squad then.....

We need him.... it's too late to get a replacement now.

Tell him to put up or waste away, Rafa. Nobody's bigger than the club.

Sell Mascherano... Bring in David Villa... Gerrard and Aquilani in the middle can do the job...

Next season i expect Mascherano to go .. for now we dont have the resources or the time to bring in a suitable replacement... stick around and try to play as well as you can lad or you'll end up at Juventus or Milan instead of Barcelona or Madrid...

Not my favourite player and i think he's overrated as fck... will be glad to see him go for big money at the end of the season if it happens..

I'd go with that! But Villa would cost us around £35 Million im guessing and Mascherano would only go for around £20 - £25 Million.

And I agree that Mascherano is overrated.

Rafa set for Mash talks

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is planning to hold discussions with Javier Mascherano regarding the midfielder's future.

The Argentina captain was linked with a move to European champions Barcelona in the summer and the Spanish club held talks with the Reds.

But Benitez refused to sell following the exit of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, and Mascherano was denied the chance to become a club colleague of close friend Lionel Messi.

There is now speculation that Liverpool want to offer the 25-year-old a contract extension in order to prolong his stay at Anfield.

And Benitez admits negotiations are planned, telling Sky Sports News: "We were talking with Mascherano before. He knows we have to have a meeting and talk about his future.

"There is a possibility that we will be friends, and will talk about things in private."

Meanwhile, Benitez has hinted that he could enter into the transfer market before the end of the summer window.

The Reds boss has signed Alberto Aquilani as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, but he still has £10million left from a transfer fee received from Real.

Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta has been mentioned as a possible target and Benitez confesses he is keeping his options open.

"I try to see how the market is, and what players are available, just in case," he said.

"You never know if you get injuries or if you have to bring someone in. It also depends on the position (of players) too.

"We are trying to keep working with the scouting department and will see what happens".

Benitez, though, insists reports linking winger Albert Riera with Barcelona are wide of the mark, adding: "No it's not true."

Its just gone 7 in the mourning and I`m raging.
Ive just seen on sky sports how JM is refusing to sign a new contract, saying its nothing to do with money he just wants to play somewhere he`ll win things.
WELL HOW ABOUT YOU START PUTTING A SHIFT IN YA FKING ARGY GIMP.
Fking unbelievable he would come out with that before the biggest game we`ve played in many a year.
GO ON JUMP YOU FKIN RAT.

Was that him saying it, or being quoted? Maybe the side needs a revamp, sell Mascherano for a sizeable sum and get a more all-round midfielder in. I'm wondering how much De Rossi would cost and would have cost, he's only one year older than Aquilani but with 1.5 times as many Serie A appearances for Roma in the same timespan as Aquilani (De Rossi 166-101 Aquilani between 04/05 and 08/09 and 26-15 on goals scored)
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I am not sure I believe that because a new contract means more wages, and after all he is a football player. If he signs a new contract he will be worth more in the summer and I am sure the players get something as a percentage when they are sold. Finally he owes Raffa for resurrecting his career, he may be sold in the summer but I am sure he will try to help the club get more for him, as did Xabi. I think he will sign but probably be sold in the summer. If we get a good price I will have no problem with that.

Its was a quote like mate but its not like the cap doesnt fit the way he has been playing and his general demeanor, plus we all know his nose was put out of jount when he was told he was staying.
The thing is are we going to see his best form (and we need it) ifs he continues to "go though the motions" untill he gets his move to a "big club".
If its true he`s a shocking pro and we would be better off without, but right now he`s desperately needed.
Ive been saying for a while the form of JM has had as much to do with our bad form than the sale of Alonso.
The way things are turning out we would have been better of selling.
Wether we would of got the money is a different matter.
