Surely Hodgson has more variables to mull over, however I don't know why Hodgson does not hold out for an amount of money that is consistent with how much Mascherano is worth. Mascherano is worth far more than 25 million. If Toure went to Man City for 25+ million then Mascherano should be AT LEAST 30-35 million.

I have always though highly of Hleb and, furthermore, he is a proven top player in the EPL - however, that is all fine and dandy however Hodgson needs to be looking for more than 13 million + Hleb for Mascherano. That is an absolute STEAL for Barcelona as Hleb is not going to sit on the bench there....he is extra weight for Barcelona.

Hodgson needs to play this tough and get the amount that Mascherano is worth.

I would take the money and get some British players from Aston Villa and Man City. There are 4 or 5 of them that would make interesting signings. Ireland, Richards, Johnson, Wright Phillips, Ashley Young.

Its a low evaluation because Mascherano handed in the transfer request. So clubs play on that and always offer way way lower than his realistic value. If the player doesn't move, well then the club is left with an unhappy unsettled player, who will hardly play, and will subsequently drive the price EVEN LOWER in the future. So the buying club is able to haggle to get their snip deal in most cases.

If he (The Bald One) had of just kept his mouth shut, Lpool would defo have received a £20 mill+ offer for Rafa's apprentice.

I would take in or around the £17 mill mark give or take a few Mill (£3M) either side.

I am sick of other clubs taking the p!ss with transfers.
If Yaya Toure went for 28 million i want around that for mascherano.

But why do we always get "screwed over"?

Cause we only sell players for 2 reasons

1. We want to get rid cause not good enough
2. The player really wants to go and let the player "fool" the club and runs down the contract.

The bargaining position in both those scenarios are really poor
as everyone knows time is on the buying clubs side.
