I'm not sure he is "upset" to be honest, I'm not sure what is going through his head  It's quite strange though, because although he pretty much only comes on the forum to comment on my posts, he doesn't actually read the content of them.

Quite often he comes on all miffed and accuses me of saying things I didn't say, accuses me of being wrong about things I was right about etc etc (he accused me of being wrong about mass rotation last week ). On other occasions when he actually talks about football (which is very rare to be honest) he displays quite clearly that he knows precious little about the subject matter. For that reason I tend not to discuss football with him, TBPH I don't actually think he is actually interested in it. .

Here, he seems to be making an argument that as we scored more goals after Keane left, then the way the whole episode panned out was obviously the right thing. When you are confronted with this kind of argument, this level of reasoning, there's not really any point in getting involved. He's the type of fella who would argue that one of the main reasons we didn't win the title was because Torres was injured for half the season, and then in the next breath would tell you that the Keane saga was entirely justified. It's not easy to be sensible in the face of that, so I've long since given up.

Still, it takes all sorts to make a forum and in fairness to the bloke he's generally courteous, polite and all that stuff. He's probably not on his own in thinking that I'm a c..., he just makes it a bit more obvious than most

Fair enough - i guess the forum is all about differing opinions but a man hunt on one poster is not really the way to go .

No idea what your thoughts on the mass rotation really are as i wasnt around at the time .

The treatment off keane was harsh on keane himself but once he left it didnt seem to effect the club or our performances as whole.

Reasons for us not winning the league ?

1. Not taking our chances when they were presented to us

2. Players not performing against smaller teams

3. Giving away too many points at home - too many draws

4. Not having both your best players available throughout the whole season

5. Lack of experience at going for the title

6.A lack of creativity when required to break down teams who park the bus .

Just my thoughts off course

The Keane fiasco didn't cost us the title but it didn't help thats for sure. Had we have had a viable alternative to Torres we'd obviosly have had a better chance of winning it though as he missed so many games. The whole point about the treatment of Keane and the sale without signing a replacement, was that it robbed us of that option.

Your other reasons certainly all contributed, some more than others obviously.

From the times i saw keane play instead of Torres up front i dont think he contributed enough tbh mick - he missed chance after chance and just didnt seem with the team most of the time .

No idea?

There might be the barest breath of a clue in his sig, mate. :D  When you've got a few hours one day you'd do well to spend it over in the rotation thread, though.  Some sound, sound footy discussion in there levened with just enough nonsense and friction and hijinks to keep the whole thing ticking over.  Newkit at its (football discussion) finest.  I think Mick makes an appearance or two in there as well. :D

I might read it if i need to go to sleep pretty damn quickly but i expect it would be an interesting read

Rotation has its good points and its bad points and needs to be done at the right time - pretty much like tht other sensitive subject - zonal marking

if everyone in the squad does their job properly (and is of sufficient quality), then i there is no problem with either rotation or zonal!

both have proven succesful   :idea

On the subject of Johnson , he will improve the level of our squad for sure - but it'll be a shame to lose arbeloa as he's a very decent utility player. If he goes we'll defo have to bring in another defender, heinze or A N Other...

I never give my opinions on things (apparently) and yet you know all about me, and all you do is give your opinion (to a fault) yet I do not know about you?? That makes sense!  :upside:

I make my living at football (and doing well thank you) and talk about it all the time, so I may know more about it than you think. The fact I cannot be bothered to type as many opinions on this forum as you do may not be so much a reflection on my football knowledge but rather the fact I have more to do (ie have a life outside the forum) as this represents a small percentage of my daily enjoyment (no offense).

The stalker thing is funny as anyone that actually knows me would never say that, so no worries. The importance of unimportant people's opinions is just that, unimportant. If it is all you have to feel superior to me then I will not keep you from the truth, because at the end of the day you are still going to be living in Mickland, looking like you do and making the same living that you do, and that should be truth enough :nod

As for me accusing you of saying things you never said (which you have been guilty of with me on a few occassions) I suggest you read your posts again. I think you waffle so much you do not actually remember all that you say (must be the old age)

meh!  :D  there's many a way to win the league, and rotation and zonal marking are two that are proven

if you want to see examples of winning stuff by "indiscriminate" rotation even at the ...shock, horror...  beginning of the season, then look no further than Ferguson, Sir Alex in the encyclopedia of football....

You too, good grief!

A manhunt is usually more than a post a week. No worries though, there is safety in numbers
