Ok, so first couple of games show a lad with bags of talent, he has to be careful though that ManUre, Arsenal etc.. dont study the videos and focus on getting in behind him where there should be stacks of space. Remember Arsaven dominated that side of the field last season against us. So great on the attack but he has to show he always has half an eye on whats going on behind him and that he´s capable of getting back and recovering.

Liverpool right backs dont get substituted because they´re tired..... that honour goes to Kuyt, Reira, Babel, Nando etc... so whilst Johnson is off to a flying start, he´s also thrown down a challenge to be a right back who plays like right midfield but really wants to be Dirky Kuyt.

I still believe he's world class, I can't think of another full back in the world that can attack like he can.  Maaaybe Alves but I don't think Ramos is as good as him when running directly at players.  And Ramos imo is not that great at defending.  Johnson looked really really good both games and against Stoke he made it look easy.  He outshined all of our players in both games when you think about it.  To come into a team like Liverpool and impose yourself in games the way he has speaks volumes for me.

He just has to show consistency if he can play somewhere near the level that he already has shown, even with some slight defensive problems I believe he'll prove exactly how good he can be.  I don't see it being that hard to do considering how easy he makes it look.  He just has way too much talent to not consider him world class, for me that is.  I have absolutely no problem spending high amounts of money when you buy quality.  I'm a big believer in getting what you pay for.. in most instances.

He is, but what I´m highlighting is if he wants to push forward as an attacking defender he needs to be spacially aware of who´s behind him, where his covering centre back is and not get caught out on a quick break. Its a risk against a quick counter team.

well, great performance by Johnson so far. but great buy or not, we have to wait for the end of the season to tell. Consistency is the key to winning title and becoming legends.

The boy showed that he has the physical attributes to become a Kop idol but still have to prove it with the mental aspect. would like to see maturity, determination, respect, ...
I wish him all the best, still cant wait to see Aquaman in action. :D

No doubt he'll get caught sometimes but if you watch his performances for the national team you will see a more composed approach, you don't see him bombing on to the extent we saw against Stoke on Saturday.

Johnson:  I am a right back, What possible difference can I make?

Rafa: Today I saw a right back become more powerful than the Emperor of Rome.  Win the crowd, and you will win your freedom.

You are not really saying anything intelligent.

The value of any player in football is ultimately a function of the market at time t. The market itself is conditioned by several factors, starting with the value his team places on him.

The market atm is distorted, ironically in a global economy in recession, primarily from the activities of Madrid and City.

Within this context, the price of Johnson is understandable. To therefore continue to bleat about his being over valued is frankly poor understanding of basic economics and the functioning of markets...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

Well I don't know about all that (bit too complicated for me) but usually when you are bidding for a player and someone else is prepared to pay the same fee then you can take it that you're not far off. Chelsea were in for him as well, and they paid 16 million quid for Boswinga last season.

Is Johnson better than Boswinga? Arguable I suppose, but I definately wouldn't take a stright swap put it that way.I also think in many ways it depends how much you need the player (and I think I'm agreeing with this sgs bloke here but I'm not entirely sure, firstly because I don't normally and secondly because I'm not sure I understand his formula). In our case, because we have a bloke who plays right side who is paceless and doesn't beat a player (BUT HE DOES DO OTHER STUFF, I'M NOT SAYING HE IS SH!T SO PLEASE DON'T MISUNDERSTAND ME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) then we need someone down the right who does.

I said at the time, before we even bid for him that he was worth it, and I still think he is.
