there is no such thing as 'sefton magistrates court'. there is 'north sefton magistrates court' in southport and 'south sefton magistrates court' in bootle. gerrard is bailed to appear at north sefton.
as for people thinking this will be dealt with today, there are only two chances of this, one is the prosecution offer no evidence so the charge is dropped, number two is gerrard pleads guilty and they proceed straight to sentence (very very unlikely).
He will appear and probably enter a plea of not guilty and request trial at Crown court in front of a jury, this will be followed by various hearing such as prima facie.
If the charges are not dropped today then expect this to drag on for over a year
