Good draw that (if we make it through). Anyone know if Anderson would be eligible to play against us, if both we and Swansea go through? Would be nice to see him involved (as long as he doesn't score the winner against us ), but somehow I doubt he would be allowed to play.

I'm trying to remember a fixture where we drew away and thought we'd done the hard work only to lose at home. Can you think who it might be I'm thinking of or am I dreaming?

think it was against bolton.....more than 10 years ago (when they were in the old 1st divison)...

we lost 2-0 at anfield.....those were the bad souness days...

Thank God for that a nice easy draw and at home too. The last thing we needed at the moment was an away trip to United or Arsenal

If we beat Luton, and let's face it at home we should expect to beat them, we'll face a spirited match against Swansea or the other team too. These little teams have nothing to lose from giving everything against a complacent Premiership giant.

After Baptiste and his teammates beat Notts County 1-0 away in the second round last month, Marcus Hackney, the chairman, stumped up £1,500 for the players to enjoy a night out in Nottingham. If they beat Swansea, he has promised them an all-expenses-paid three-day trip to Las Vegas. In the meantime, there is a league match away to Bishop’s Stortford tomorrow to worry about.

If Hollywood was in England, they would make movies about Havant and Waterlooville beating us. Each player would just be massively overratted and realllly good at one thing with a lot of weaknesses, but then the magical coach gets them to  play together as one unit, and "11 men working together, CAN'T LOOSE" there would be a bunch of crazy characters, like somebody who only plays well if he is drunk, an old timer who used to be really good but is a bit washed up, learns to take on a leadership role, some 13 year old wonder kid with great skill on the ball but gets it taken off him all the time, some fierce tackling ball winner who can't pass (hmm reminds me of someone), Some Brazilian who is almost a free kick specialist, but with just a bit of sports psychology coaching becomes the next Juninho.

I would probably pay to see this movie. As long as they beat United or Chelsea

Nah, if it were a movie, the little club would lose, but to a contentious last minute penalty.

Thus ensuring that they keep their heads high and the big club are seen as the villains (probably after bribing the ref or having the secret support of the FA who need the big club in the next round for TV revenue).

In the SEQUEL they are drawn together again but this time in the final where the little team pull of the upset of the millennium.

Might well be, I was trying to think who and was running out of time. I had it down as one of Burnley, Sheff Utd, Palace, Bristol City or some poxy bleeder we'd expect to beat 10 times out of 9

They weren't even Premiership that season, didn't even get promoted or reach the play-offs - they finished bottom half and lost more games than they won in the league. So anyone (no names mentioned saint) who thinks we're certs to win wants to think again. Maybe it isn't a Houllier side, but we drew at home to Wigan and looked clueless against Luton yesterday
