Can't believe some of his decisions......OMG...was he trying to NOT win that game ?

Also have to kick props to Mash..... He singlehandedly neutralized the whole eversh1t midfield.... Mash shouldn't be dropped at all..... for whatever reason..

270 mins he has plaed across 2 continents , he must be dead tired , credit to him he put his jet lag behind him and produced a good display . wasn't his best but it was average , hope alono comes back soon . we really miss him and need him .  :)

Mascherano is an great solid professional footballer and showed that today!!

He lost 1 ball in the entire game.....A FUC>KING GREAT PLAYER!

His air miles are irrelevant because he is so good..Total quality in every sense of the word!

Ola Mr Benitez wrote:Ive got to be honest I have never felt so low after a derby win..  We where lucky to get any points from that game.

1.  Rafa sets up a team that was so un balanced it is untrue.  No width, No one on the right at all??
2.  When it was obviousy goin bad for us we made no changes.. Why?
3.  Taking SG off instead of Sissoko who was useless.. again

I have always backed Rafa, but I have to say I think he has lost the plot..  It is hard`to say it when you see we have still not lost in the Premiership, but with the squad we have (I know he is the one who has assembled it) we should be beating these small teams with ease, yet we keep making it hard work.

Would anyone on this forum have made the subs he did today??

Do you think these kind of decisions may lead to him losing the dressing room??

Its 3 points in the bag and I should be feeling good.. but I don't..  sorry

Spot on. I agree with everything you just mentioned here. If Gerrard was put on the right, shouldn't he have been told to stick out there and not leave no gaps? He was told to have a free role, so wasn't it him being selfish by not backing up Finnan down the right when he left that gap because he was too busy taking up the space in the middle? I mean, was Rafa playing a 3 in the centre or what? I just don't know. And if so, that meant that there would certainly be no one to spread the ball out wide on the right to when Gerrard or someone else got hold of it in the middle. It made no sense whatsoever, and it should have been rectified instantly by Rafa. Instead he let it drag on this way.

And when he did make a sub, I was thinking, take Sissoko off (who was terrible) and give us some width in the form of Pennant, who would have murdered their back line with 10 men. But no. Instead he subs a player for player, Benayoun, one of our better dribblers that can carry the ball, for Babel. Wouldn't it have been better sense to replace one of our toothless strikers with him instead? Then the Gerrard sub came and it because a farce. It really did. Even Gerrard was stunned. How many times have we seen that? He subbed another player, like for like. Leiva is just a Gerrard clone. It made no sense. Very strange game indeed, with even stranger tactics from Rafa. Sorry Rafa, mate - but you lost the plans there. I'm no manager, but I know a bad play when I see it.

Sissoko is the worst liverpool player ive seen in years, Id rather have Biscan or Smicer in my starting line up.  Yet another shocking performance, Momo out.

Actually...i can't wait for kewell and agger to come back....

Once kewell come back, our team will reach new heights.

This has to be our strongest team

               Reina
  Finnan   Carra   Agger  Riise/Arbeloa
  Pennant/  Alonso   Mash   Kewell
  Benayoun
                Gerrard
                             Torres

As you can see...i don't rate kuyt, voronin and crouch...

i think kuyt is a great striker , he put balls into the box but the finishing was horrible , thats a good think but replace benayoun with babel and push gerrard back into babl's postion abd babel to pale just behind torres , me 2 mate can't wait for agger , alonso but seriously i really want to see kewell plae , he's one of my fav players hope he really shows his worth in this short span of tiem and wins a new contract . i don tink we will get mascherano as kia wants 17 million for him and i cannot see us spending that money on masc so we're gonna lose another good player , next season we have to buy a top centre back , holding midfield and a proflic winger like quaresma but i doubt he can adapt in the league fast , the only striker who has adapted btr then torres so far is drogba ..

I have not had talk sports on but my mate has just told me they have said that Rafa and Gerrard have had a bust up after the game and they did not give any press interviews.

Is this True, have any of you heard this on the radio, i hope not.

Sissoko has his uses. He really does. But only when Alonso and Gerrard are playing and the team has good balance. Sissoko likes to make a mess of things high up the pitch and leave all the complicated stuff to Gerrard and Alonso (like simple passing). If you put him in a game and ask him to both pick a pass, destroy, and score, he gets all confused and goes mental. Sissoko kinda reminds  me of like putting a duracell battery into a toy that vibrates and hops around a lot. If left unattended, it'll buzz about, bump into things and generally go mental until it runs out of juice or breaks something.

not in january but at the end of the year i rekon rafa should sell sissoko, use leiva instead of him, extend mascherano deal. if we do this, get in a deffender or 2 and maybe a striker if crouchy goes i will b more then happy. i think beniyion, pennant, riise, babel are all capable of playing on the wings and i for one dont rekon we need a world class winger. i no sum will disagree though.

rafa did an interview on Sky and said when asked why he took Gerrard off "we needed players who play with their heads not their hearts".. What is he saying Gerrard was everything today.

The guys on Radio City are laughing at him..

If Gerrard has been told that I would hope he did have a wrod with Rafa

We have to sign Mash...... We should be signing players of his quality if we are to move forward...

If hargreaves and carrick cost more than 15 million....then surely Mash monster is worth 17 million don't you think ?

He is already one of my fav players now....will be devastated if he we don't sign him.....

A Mash & Alonso midfield with gerrard in a free role is the way to move forward... No team will be able to cope with this midfield if all play to their potential...

We need a world class manager at the moment!
