Its alright being optimistic. But I reserve my optimism inside me rather than boasting about how we are gonna do it. Optimism is to dwell on the most hopeful aspects of a situation. My optimism is LFC will become the club to conquer england and europe like the good old days, in the next 2 years. But I reserve the optimism many share that eventually we will get 4th place this season.
In the 1st half of the season, all of us have the belief that Everton will fail and drop once after the new year. Some of us thought that we will beat the ****** outta them in the derby match. We thought the club would be in 4th place by now! We'll have a full squad to challenge some honours?
So lets look where Everton and Liverpool stands now after the new year. The difference in points are still the same.
We have injuries coming hampering the plans to get it right for us. They have less injuries and field generally a squad of little changes.
We have a major player power struggle against the club that sometimes dampens the morale of our players. They continue to play like a well oiled machine even though the Grava ****** left for Madrid.
We have players not proving their worth in the team. They have players playing every match as if a final!
Now I repeat that it is not impossible to get that elusive 4th place. It takes real hardwork and concentration, consistency and a tinny weeny bit of luck plays a part, to snatch it away from Everton. As someone has mentioned before, "it is harder to play catch up. I'll rather they catch me."
This year will not be a championship year for us. But we need that 4th spot to secure our history of playing with Europe's elite. That is part of the club's vision. Seriously, I place my focus on CL games now because I feel Rafa deserve a cup.
If my words will reach the players, I hope they know we fans want them to win every darn match in the premiership from now to attain the goals the club has for them.
