Melbranque would be a good signing but he's injured and will be out for a month.

Edu would be nice. But how old is he? I haven't got a clue. I wouldn't say no.

Think he's 25-26. 16 caps for brasil , some great performances for arsenal , no need to "acclimatise"  to life in the prem .Could be a great addition to the squad .

Edu's move from Arsenal is set to be confirmed before the end of the week.

The Brazil midfielder, whose deal with the Barclays Premiership champions expires at the end of the current campaign, has already confirmed he will not be playing at Highbury next season.

With Gunners boss Arsene Wenger keen to sell the 26-year-old rather than lose him for free in the summer, Edu's agent confirmed a deal is imminent.

"In the next few days the club which wants to contract Edu will contact Arsenal to negotiate a transfer. After this we will reveal his destination," Jean Gaspar said.

Wenger revealed last week he is resigned to Edu leaving the club, just a year after the player established himself regularly in the first team.

"He will either extend his contract or move now. It is impossible for him to stay otherwise until the end of the season," Wenger said.

"I thought we had made some progress but finally it looks like he will go to a different club. If I really had to make a bet, I would say Valencia."

With only months left on Edu's contract, Arsenal are unlikely to recoup the £6million they paid Corinthians in 2001.

The midfielder initially had trouble settling in the capital but last season was his most consistent campaign, helping Arsenal finish unbeaten in the league. He also put in an impressive performance against Spanish side Celta Vigo in the Champions League, scoring twice in a vital away win.

However, Edu had talks with Gunners deputy chairman David Dein last weekend when he confirmed he will not sign a new contract.

If he's still got 5+ years left in him I'll take him.
