More than 30 teams, including my humble team would happily pay 3 Million for him , that'd be a bargain. Perhaps 14M is too much, but just because there's not much money right now in european football, if we leave England apart.

i'm an auxerre fan and on the pitch he was an awful person, very angry with himself and teammates, off the pitch he was one of the kindest players of our squad (for example loaned his cars to several players like boumsong) when he's on the pitch he's different and he knows he has to change his behaviour
to be honest i'm very disappointed with his lack of teamwork but it's something he can improve, i think he's looking for confidence.
he could be a very good stricker for liverpool, he's made for the premiership so i don't think it would be a good idea to sell him but i don't know.... he doesn't want to go back in france

i don't care if its in january or in the summer, just sell him. he won himself thousands of fans by coming back so quickly from such a terrible injury, but bit by bit he has lost them again with his appaling attitude and patent lack of top class striker type talent. he's never going to be a player that will justify a £14 million price tag and his resale value will be a lot lower, though 3 or 4 million is ridiculous - if someone comes in with 7 or 8 he's gone. i'm sure rafa wants to bring in another striker anyway and with that scenario i'd be happy to have cisse on the bench. but with his attitude problem he's only going to spread more discontent and is better of gone back to france.

You have got to say he isn;t doing himself any favours though with his reactions both on and off the pitch. Saturday was classic Cisse, arms waving and gesticulating like a windmill and doing NOTHING for the team. We won the CL last season and Cisse scored once, Baros scored once so don't imagine we can't win when the strikers aren't producing.

Crouch wouldn;t have been my choice of striker at LFC but he gives his all and contributes to the team and you sense he's a lot more professional than Cisse who arrived with a big reputation and hasn't delievered.

I'd love him to prove me wrong but on the evidence so far this season I can;'t see it.

Offers circa 7-8 Million and I believe LFC will sell.

Nah he's not good enough for a top club. He's got pace and power, but as many have said the rest of his game is average at best.

He'd probably do well in a team which plays on the counter attack, relying on the long ball a lot, a bit like we did a few years back with Owen (perhaps that’s why GH bought him?).

In a team which likes to play slick, one-touch, pass and move football, Cisse is out of his depth as he doesn't have the necessary technical ability. If you watch Barcelona a lot you'll know what I mean, they play beautiful one-touch football, and a key to their success is Samuel Eto'o who has pace, strength and power as well as being technically gifted enough to play with Ronaldinho, Messi, Xavi, Deco and others. If you put Cisse in there instead of Eto'o they wouldn't look half as good, cos Eto’o he really has everything you'd want in a striker, and is a real focal point for Barca.

We need somebody like Eto'o or Adriano (who's all-round game is also excellent) at Liverpool, but I just can’t see us getting anyone near that quality anytime soon. Defoe would be a start though.

Hiya Scott, excellent point about Samuel Eto. While the whole footballing world are raving about Ronhaldinio and rightly so cos he is top quality it's easy to forget the other players who make Barcelona such a good side at present. If they don't win the CL this season the team that beats them probably will.

We can only dream of getting someone of his calibre or Adriano who again is top drawer.

Defoe is having a tough time of it at present at Spurs but I'd still be surprised if they entertain offers.

Ronaldinho is still their best player IMO, but Eto'o on form is arguably the best striker in the world, and that Messi kid looks brilliant and he's only 18.

Spot on about the CL, I think Barca are probably the best team in Europe at the moment, but a team with a top defence is capable of beating them (perhaps Juve, Chelski or oursleves). They play the most attractive football in Europ3 at the minute, and although you probably can't outplay them, they are beatable as Chelsea showed last season.

The difference with Barca this year though is they are looking much better defensively with Puyol and Marquez providing an excellent centre-half pairing. (FWIW I think Barca would have beaten Chelsea last season had Marquez played)

If I was Rijkaard and was asked to allow leaving a player from Bar$a under a gun, I'd rather leave Ronaldinho rather than Etoo. Etoo is more important in Bar$a than Ronaldinho, but the latter sell more tshirts because besides being a top player, he makes things like bicycles and tricks. Another secret of Bar$a is that when Etoo is not fit they have Larsson, who's an excellent striker, and what is best, knows his role well in the club and won't complain about being subbed or being on the bench.

Xavi is a hell of a player too, while Deco, well, for me is not that important. Watch out Messi, he's so young and so good!, I think this is Bar$a's year, I don't want neither them nor Olympique Lyonnaise in the way of Liverpool to Paris

You're right Sabre, Barca just ooze quality, everywhere you look their is world class players. Although we might be European Champions, you only have to look ta Barca to relaise we are not quite up with the best of Europe just yet, we are still a bit behind the Barca's and Milan's of this world IMO.

You are stupid if you think there will be big money offers coming for Cisse in january. Those 14 millions are sunk and should not influence future decisions. The going rate for Cisse would be about £ 3-4 millions and we should take it if offered. At least that is better than having to accomodate a big headed ego

Sell Cisse for 3-4 million?  is houllier back in charge?  Cisse is wanted by some big clubs...thats a FACT.  Rafa won't sell him for anything less than we got him, why?  Because he's getting goals and also doing a job for the team.  We don't HAVE to sell Cisse....money isn't THAT important, but if the 'right off comes in' (as Rafa put it) then we will...until then, he's a LFC player

I'd sell Cisse, but not in December, ann I'd sell him at the right price. Normally in december you don't get people that is on the starting eleven of other teams, you get people that has not shown what they can do, or are at the bench.

In my view, the winter transfer windows are only for when you're on blatant need of signing in one team (injuries, blatant lack of a position). I don't see any good known striker that might come in winter window transfer, and if it comes, it will be expensive, it's always more expensive to buy in winter than in summer. Another option is to bring an unknown player, but then that's a lottery, and I'd rather preffer Cisse than a lottery.

SO I'd wait to summer to sell him, unless someone comes with the right price, *and* we're able to get a decent striker

Defoe? Tottenham fans claim that he doesn't have good enough awarness, I can't judge Defoe because I don't see him play week in and week out but obivioulsy Tottenham fans can. And as of late he's been on the bench. If he can't work under Jol's system than what makes you think that he will under Rafa's?
