And a CB!  :grinning:

Don't forget that back-up striker!

:D

Actually, assuming both N'gog and Jovanovic go, I could live without us buying another striker - Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt, with Pacheco and the kids as back ups and plenty of ACMs (I'm guessing we'll still have Cole, Maxi and at least one of Aquilani and Merieles) means we'd probably have adequate cover in the attacking third.

Would be nice to have a fourth to add to that list of strikers, but as long as we get our defense sorted and some more options out wide I'll be very happy.

There's a compilation embedded in the Liverpool Echo's story of the deal that shows a few Alonso-esque diagonal balls.  It was my first proper look at the fellow in truth and I hope that's a big part of what his game will be about for us.  We've missed Alonso big-time since his departures and could use a cultured tempo-setter in the engine room.

If he passes the medical, which he 99.99% will, will he be flying to Asia with the rest of the lads?

Noone seems to know how much the deal is but the Echo guesses at £9m...

LIVERPOOL FC have agreed a fee with Blackpool for the transfer of midfielder Charlie Adam.

The Scotland international will now discuss personal terms with the Reds and undergo a medical.

The fee is believed to be in the region of £9million and the transfer is set to be completed in time for Adam to travel with Liverpool to the Far East for their pre-season tour on Sunday.

Kenny Dalglish is a huge admirer of the talented 25-year-old and has been chasing his services since he took over as manager six months ago.

In January Liverpool had an £8million offer rejected as Blackpool were desperate to keep hold of him in their bid to avoid relegation.

However, following their drop to the Championship they have admitted defeat in their battle to keep him.

happy with the signing but the number of midfielders we have is ridiculous - Gerrard, Adam, Meireles, Aquilani, Lucas, Poulsen, Spearing, Shelvey and Henderson. will be interesting to see how the team is set up.

I think he will be a huge addition, to me he seems a more Gary McAlister type midfielder and if he does anywhere near as good as him I'll be chuffed.

Great signing and happy that it's all finally resolved. I think at least a couple of the midfielders will be either loaned out/sold or could concentrate efforts to make them more versatile and used in other positions (know i didn't mean the likes of Poulson used in the tea room :) )
