Excellent! Let's sign one more so we could finally complete our cohort of midfielders. Could make a full squad of players who play in the middle. It has to be a new record or something.

BLACKPOOL have agreed a deal with Liverpool for Charlie Adam.

The Seasiders’ captain is on his way to Merseyside to complete a medical after a deal was struck on Wednesday morning.

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston is understood to have held fresh talks with his counterparts at Liverpool last night.

And the deal was agreed this morning.

The Seasiders are expected to receive somewhere in the region of £7m, as well as two players

two players - hopefully both loans

I'm guessing Shelvey is one of them providing this is true anyway
All round the fields of Anfield Road

I think so, I believe Blackpool wanted a couple on loan at least.

I heard Wilson and Shelvey's names mentioned in the past.  I hope its not both of them though.  Hopefully Wilson and one of the younger lads.

Rumour on RAWK is Shelvey on loan plus Konchesky as a permanent.

Heard that Konchesky may be on his way there as a part of the deal.

We are probably guilty of being seduced by signings from overseas and Adam just sounds a bit plain, old school signing. Truth be told he is technically very good and is a master on the set pieces and at crossing a ball. These are all tools we have simply not had in the box for many years, and Adam will provide that, even if he is only from down the road at Blackpool. The lad can play and his big challenge now is to prove he can produce under pressure at a club like Liverpool.

that would be decent. Shelvey could do with a season of regular football rather than being reduced to in and out appearances and 10 minutes off the bench

Konchesky wasn't needed or wanted either so that doesn't bother me nor will it bother anyone associated with LFC
