Hope i'm wrong but he's got latest flavour of the month written all over him to me, like when Potter went to Chelsea. Speaking of Chelsea why did we let Alonso sign for them if we knew we were getting rid of this fella..
With all due respect to the Bournemouth's of this world managing a club like this with our history and expectation and indeed culture is a completely different kettle of fish to managing a small club from a sleepy retirement town on the south coast.
Got to be Klopp for me, if not him then Emery seems the safest pair of hands.
Here's an idea from left-field, how about a sneaky bid for Guardiola, he's always seemed to have a lot of respect for us and has said some really nice things about Anfield in particular.

He better not be staying now!!ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Sat May 30, 2026 4:05 pm wrote:As i said Iroala has just got Potter, Andre Villas-Boas, ETH, next-flavour-of-the-month written all over him to me, yes he's done a great job at Bournemouth but loads of managers have done great jobs at clubs further down the league over the years including the likes of Roy Hodgson and David Moyes. How many of these types big clubs occasionally take a punt on actually go on to succeed.
I think management is like horse racing there's horses for courses and i think to manage a big club and control a dressing room full of top players with big ego's and to win things consistently you need a certain type of character and manager.
For me it's Klopp, if not him i'd go for Guardiola and i'm not joking, i've seen interviews with him where he's on spanish television telling a studio full of spanish people that he's never been to another stadium anywhere in the world like Anfield. Obviously any time he's turned up with City our fans have been well fired up meeting the team coaches on Anny Road or Arkles Lane with flags, scarves, red flares and smoke bombs etc so he's probably got a distorted view of things, he probably thinks Anfield is like that when Leyton Orient rock up in the cup but he was waxing lyrical about the place. He also says we are the greatest rivals he's ever faced in his career including Madrid. There's clearly a lot of respect there. Hand on heart i dont think he'd come to us, he looks fed up of footy at the moment to me, i suspect the 115 chargers and all that has a lot to do with that. Surely though its worth at least asking the question.
If not Jurgen or Pep i'd go for Emery, he doesnt inspire me but the fella clearly knows his trade and has done reasonably well where ever he's been. He'd at least be a safe pair of hands.

I get where your coming from Mate as Bournemouth are a well run club and seem to transition through managers along with losing top players quite well. What i will say about Araola is that under him you could see them on an upward trajectory. They where playing some good stuff and the fans are gutted he's left. Handling the expectation and pressure here will be a big challenge for him if he gets it.
Realistically Klopp isn't an option and he seems quite happy what he's doing now. Although Guardiola has spoken about us many times in a great way I t would be hard to see him taking this job or us offering it tbh. Slot had a small squad and even now Konate left the talk is not bringing anyone in as it will block Jaquet and Leoni's path to 1st team. Guardiola ain't putting up with that messing and will want a team ready to compete. When those charges finally hit he isnt going to want to be anywhere near the English media!![]()
If we where willing to back Emery id say we would get him. He has no other reason to leave Villa otherwise. I'd class him as having that respect as a manager. They dont have to be bestie's with the players but the players need to know who the boss is and do the job he asks. Out of the younger managers in the game i think Araola has a bit more about him than most.
The board need to smarten up as well and take a different approach to what they are doing. Like Klopp Araola will burn through players due to the high intensity. We need at the minimum to replace whats left this season and I doubt we will be spending big. FSG will be thinking of next year when a lot of players are out of contract and the work they will have to do then. The manager will have to go along with that or he won't be getting the job.
