We will be replacing managers if they don't get it right with whoever they appoint.

Tongue in cheek here but if it's that 38yr old from Al Hilal then chances are we could be

Well thats somenthing to look forward to, a bit of good news after what will inevitably be a dull watch on Sunday, probably ending in a defeat at home.

The title was there for the taking this year against a defensively sound but limited Arsenal team but we blew it big time. Congrats to them, they were the best of a bad bunch. Looks like Dembele will miss the CL final too, it's easy to start clutching at straws calling others lucky but i'm a big believer in that you make your own luck in this game, City applied a hell of lot of pressure to them at the end there but they didn't crumble. Only one team deservers the title of bottlers of the year and we all know who that is, we've been watching them all season.

Thought Dembele being taken off was precaution.

If the fanbase were not annoying I wouldn't mind them lot winning the title. In the past when United used to dominate and being surrounded by Manc fans it was a breather when Arsenal used to win the title. I uses to like them under Wenger and the players they had then.

This current lot are something else, brand of anti football.
Also social media and clowns on aftv don't help.

Arsenal have had no red cards this season and no penalties given against them. Thats never happened in the premier league before.

Its shocking when you look back at all the decisions that went their way for this to happen.

The Punch by Gabriel on Woltemade

The blatant handball by Gabriel vs Newcastle.

The horrendous tackle by Havertz vs Burnley.

Saliba kicking straight through Barry vs Everton.. No pen.

Gabriel already on a yellow vs Brentford takes out Ouattara.. should be a 2nd yellow. Another gift.

Spurs vs Arsenal - Muani through on goal, Gabriel takes him out as the last man. Decision no red card.

Arsenal vs Brighton - Martinelli blatantly pulls down Wieffer in the box. Decision no penalty.

Arsenal vs Chelsea - 3 big penalty shouts for Chelsea, all 3 denied.

Gabriel Headbutt on Haaland.. No red card.

West Ham goal not given for a foul on Raya.

They've had so many big decisions go in their favour this season.

There's a resurfaced video of someone speaking on behalf of the premier league saying the strategic plan of the league is to put a new name on the trophy every 6 years.

I very much supported the idea that Man City won some of their titles with brown envelopes, the very fact they even exist as a relevant club is through corruption actually. I have no reason to believe Arsenal have the same power though.

However, the fact they've had exactly zero red cards AND penalties against them this season is very suspicious, especially when you consider their style of play. And that bit about the PL saying they have a "strategic plan" to have a new winner every 6 years makes things even more questionable. I mean, how can the league even plan for something like that? Winning the league isn't (or shouldn't) be something you can plan ahead. And unfortunately this kinda involves us as well..

As for the PL official saying what he said I think should be taken with a grain of salt as it could have been taken out of context, the PL brand would certainly benefit if it was competitive across the teams, especially when you see most other European leagues are two team leagues.

I do think that the PL is corrupt though and that is just by watching it for the last 20 years. When ManUre had Fergie it was blatantly obvious they always had the refs, Chelsea seem to get many decisions when they were winning. City’s time was loaded with awful and blatant refereeing errors throughout their reign, and we lost because of it and it only stopped when they got sanctioned by the PL and they counter  sued the PL, which was settled. Now you have this Arsenal team and it’s shocking that no reds and no penalties considering how they played. They have given especially Gabriel free rein this season and I don’t believe I’ve seen a season where a defender got away with so much as he did. It’s so obvious and the fact the refs have let them get away with these tactics, there could be no other reason other than PL corruption. There was no evening out across the season and every neutral fan could see it. It certainly cannot be stated that luck went Arsenal’s way this year. They won a lot 1-0 and more often than not the game was full of incidents that were suspicious. Before VAR you could have blamed the refs but with VAR it means that it’s institutional, this cannot be down to good or bad luck.

I’m certainly falling out of love with football this year as it does my head it to see the blatant injustice in officiating. One day a whistle blower or journalist will expose all this and it will confirm what we all knew.

Ok so lets assume the FA had a cunning plan for Arsenal to win the league. So that they have no red cards, penalties against them etc.. all the refs, linesmen and VAR refs would need to be instructed accordingly. Fantasy.

Alternately how could Arsenal play the way they play, everyone can see it, and not get a single penalty or red card in a WHOLE season against them? It’s never been done! Let’s assume that calling the PL corrupt a fantasy, how can that be explained? If they played tiki taka attacking football it would be a tough ask, but they don’t. They are a team of thugs that prioritize defense and “dark arts” over everything.

I’d say fantasy is thinking that it is just luck of the draw.

Curios what your opinion of all the decisions City got before they sued the PL? You watched it with your own eyes season after season, thinking they got bad decisions consistently would that also be fantasy? Not having a go but genuinely curious. I remember complaining about some refs as refs that hate Liverpool and I was told a similar thing. Then it turned out one of those refs made a video calling Klopp a c.unt and scousers monkeys (or whatever he said). He was one of five or so refs that were gifting City games and if not for his stupidity recording himself accusations against him would have also been considered fantasy.

When the actions are institutional then you have the blame the institution until they sort it out.

Concerning the dislike of teams/managers, it's more likely that 2 or 3 refs might get together to influence outcomes buy how can it be FA (...or EPL?) led. Weirdo refs I admit could have agendas but not the whole institution.

Sometimes when teams are on a roll, up in lights etc.. it will influence decisions in their favour, ie Mau United under Fergie, conversely unpopular teams won't get any favours. Whatelse can I say?

I actually don't see why corruption can't be institutionalised. It's very possible IMO, but I also don't see why anyone would want to help Arsenal. Man City had the monetary power, their owners are richer than the whole Premier League and they could easily buy their way into anything. Arsenal can't though and I see no reason for anyone to help them.

Having said that, I watched a video of all the questionable decisions going for Arsenal this season and ***** hell it was almost 10 minutes of stonewall red cards and penalties that were never given. Now I can understand getting the rub of the green sometimes, but having exactly ZERO pens and red cards go against the most agressive team in the league just doesn't add up.

I wonder how many goals they've had disallowed due to making a foul in the process. I bet that's also zero.

While Arsenal did seem to get a lot of favourable decisions this season i wouldn't begrudge them the title. Im not a fan of lego head or half the players but they have been a solid contender now this 5 or 6 years. They where bound to win one and they did but a deciding factor was the lack of competition this season from ourselves or City.

Var is making the game worse and actually promotes corruption as they can and have influenced so many games. I doubt it's one big corrupt organisation but definitely elements of corruption and bias exist among a few. They shouldn't be getting stuff wrong  and offering weird excuses to justify it.  The worst for me this year was the Wirtz goal and the 5cm rule. Never seen it deployed before that or since despite them regularly ruling a striker offside by millimeters. If the referees had to make these calls and suffer the consequences then you wouldn't have those mistakes. As a fan I'd much rather the situation where if a decision goes against you  then it's by one man's error and not 3. Even offside, the game went from a situation where every angle was covered by cameras to some fifa 82 image of two lads standing on a 5 metre section of the pitch. Its just ridiculous.

It’s institutional corruption if there is no compliance or governance. If mistakes continue to happen whether a bad ref or a group of refs that conspire together or even to protect their brand, then you have to blame the PL (institution) for not doing anything about it. When they send Webb to completely bulls1t us with shifting lines on sky it just confirms it. I’d bet you they knew about David Coote as he didn’t seem to hide it. Only when it blew up online did they act. To me that is institutional corruption.

I think VAR has damaged trust in officiating more than anything. Fans could accept mistakes before because decisions were made in real time, but VAR was brought in to remove clear errors and somehow we still get inconsistent rulings every week.

That’s what fuels suspicion. One week they use forensic lines for 2cm offsides, next week they suddenly interpret things differently. The Wirtz decision was the perfect example because nobody understood why that rule seemed to appear out of nowhere.

For me football was easier to accept before VAR. A ref missing something at full speed is one thing, but now they’ve got multiple officials and replays and still confuse everyone watching.

Anyhow onto Slot, they'll obviously give him another season. Give him a chance to see if he can change things with injured players back. Along with UCL qualification, which we should seal tomorrow. Gut also tells me he'll be gone Oct/Nov.

If we start with Slot we're going to be giving Arsenal and City a head start in the title race. I'm 100% convinced Slot can't turn this around! I called it in November and was proven absolutely right. People like Carragher has overly supported Slot and told us as fans to give him time.. Now even Carra has spoken out saying Slot has sucked the life out of the club.
