Even after all the horrendous results we are not completely out of the title race or the Champions league. Ive seen more than enough now to confidently say Slot is not turning this mess around. Players look uninterested, lost, and have no fight in them. We'll just keep losing points here and might not even make the top 4 if this carries on.

I'm not sure what happened for us to be in such a mess.. is the coaching staff over working the players? Are the tactics all wrong? Is Slot too stubborn to change anything?

Like the previous poster said, its a long term project here, and sacking Slot would have to be the last chance saloon..

But I feel we've come to that point.
This was last chance Saloon. And this was early December. This season could've and should've been saved.

This season couldn't have been saved IMO but next season can be. Unfortunately it looks very likely that it's gonna be more of the same next season too.

We’ve conceded 52 goals, which is already a record for a 38 game season.

I think it’ll surpass 40 before the season is out.

God knows if we’ll get the last CL spot. It’ll be a pure fluke if we do, we don’t deserve it.

Not f*cking sure where I stand on us qualifying for CL footy next season.
If we qualify for CL footy next term , does that mean the powers that be will keep Humpty fking Dumpty in the job  :veryangry
FK it I'm sick of it all . I can accept losing a match , but can't accept the pedestrian paint by numbers slow slow , slow slow slow, approach, the fking egg head has imposed upon the team.
Switch of the telly last night at 3-1 , couldn't take it any more.

If failure to qualify for the CL next term means we will get rid of Slott I'm all for it  :buttrock
We rewind and go again  :buttrock

Could potentially be financial decision, Alonso after a quick paycheck lol. Sign a long contract and get replaced within a year or less. Don't know how he'll do there, however If they do very well then will just be left with sour grapes.

I think Chelsea have the squad that could perfectly play the 5-2-3 System Alonso like to play. That was the only worry for me him coming here was the system change, even though I think it would suit both Frimpong and Kerkez.

If we keep Konate, get another CB and get an attacking midfielder instead of a winger (Morgan Gibbs-White seems to be getting better and better), we'd have a decent squad too for Alonso's formation, plus we already have a couple of his ex players. Could have looked something like this:

                            Allison/Mama

    Konate/Gomez  Virgil/Jaquet   New CB(Senesi?)/Leoni

Frimpong/Bradley  Grav/Edno  Sobz/Alexis   Kerkez/Tsimikas

     Gibbs-White?/Elliot?                Wirtz/Gakpo

                                Isak/Ekitike

Don't know how much this formation can work in the EPL, last time I remember a similar formation being successful was with Chelsea under Conte some 10 years ago. But in terms of having a squad for Alonso's approach, I think with two or three signings we can have it.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter now.

Looking at your team:

                                   Allison/Mama

    Konate/Gomez  Virgil/Jaquet   New CB(Senesi?)/Leoni

Frimpong/Bradley  Grav/Edno  Sobz/Alexis   Kerkez/Tsimikas

     Gibbs-White?/Elliot?                Wirtz/Gakpo

                                Isak/Ekitike

Allison, doesn't seem to have his heart in it any more, hopefully Mama will be ready to take over by end of next season.
Konate - not good enough, not consistent enough.
Gomez - was finished 4 seasons ago.
Virg - should be sold on, only kept for continuity reasons.
Leoni - fingers crossed the lad makes a full recovery.
Frimpong - not good enough.
Bradly - why midfield, he should be RB.
Grav - needs to buck up or he becomes the next Macallister.
Endo - finished.
Slobo - just us in the CL race this season.
Macallister- boiled *****.
Lerkez - hasn't established himseld, needs to buck up.
The Greek - is the greek.
Would rather play Elliot than Frimpong.
Wirtz - do we have the right players around him, are we playing the right tactics, would Klopp have used him differently.
Gakpo. Sell.
Isak - make or break season.
Etitike - absolute star this season, hopefully he'll make a full recovery.

We should have a stellar team and squad and it's turned out to be awful. If Slot stays and we don't turn it round then we go into a 5 year limbo.
If that happens I might not see our next title ffs....

Something needs to happen as it's true a lot of the players liked Salahs rant. For them to do that publicly says a whole lot about what's going on behind the scenes. They obviously aren't happy with the set up and it raises a massive problem for the club. Do you back Slot and risk players switching off or give in to player power.

Can Slot do what needs to be done and reinvent himself with a complete switch of management is the question. He needs to work them harder and change tactics while hoping they buy into it. There is talk of his old no 2 coming in and GVB heading the other way.  If he's involved already in discussions for new players then my money is on it being Dumfries and the other dutch lad that was on loan to Sunderland, the fella we tried to get in january. This summer is gonna be make or break for us. Get it wrong and we could be in real trouble.

I hope we don’t flood the team with Dutch players.

If it’s true I don’t think anyone will be upset, I just hope they have done their homework and have someone decent to come in. We don’t need to be changing managers every couple of years. We now live in a world of memes, algorithms and short attention spans so having a manager stay 8 years may become a rarity.
