After 29 LONG years, this is finally our season

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Under Brendan we were 5 points clear with only 3 games to go when we blew it, we'd just beaten City at Anfield as well in a game labelled as the title decider so our fans know more than anyone that it's never over until they hand you the trophy.
Saying that any time you win any major trophy there are certain games along the way that you look back on and say that match was pivotal (Olympiakos in 2005 for example). IMO these next 2 games will prove to be pivotal, one way or another.

Don't even try. I've seen so many false dawns before I'm not taking out anything in advance.
I'm sure the club won't do it the easy way and it'll go down the wire...

Whatever happens this season it is clear that this is one of the best Liverpool squads we have ever had. With the Rafa one and the Rodgers one I always felt we were over achieving and felt nervous throughout, not this time. I think Klopp has put together a f.ucking good team that hopefully will stay together for a while. From now on buying players becomes more important as the chemistry now is right and could be upset.

Redshade you are so right mate.

18 games and 54 points to play for and we will probably need  42/45 points to win the league which looks reasonable if we don’t lose key players to injury. City can achieve a maximum of 101 points if they win all their remaining games which is unlikely. We are in a fantastic position but nothing can be taken for granted. Newcastle had a 14 lead over United and still failed to win the league !!

As you say let’s just enjoy the ride. City fans certainly aren’t. They are absolutely obsessed with us. This is the funniest collection of shight (753 pages since June 2018) that I have read in a long time and I thought it was the Bluenoses that are bitter: https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/thre ... 3/page-752

City have spent over a £1b net compared to the £300m Liverpool have spent over the same period in the transfer market. They have laughed in the face of the financial fair play rules with their dubious machinations and received a pathetic fine instead of a points reduction in the past. They have bought their success. They pay their manager nearly double what any other manager in the premier league receives except their somewhat desperate neighbours  - NEARLY £16M A YEAR. They pay players crazy wages. All this and the poor bitter brainless dopes actually think the world is against them.No wonder Ferguson took the ***** out of them for so many years

What is your problem with the thread OnlyMe ?? Are your superstitions getting the better of you? If we can’t enjoy this moment in time we might as well pack in watching football. Just believe mate - BELIEVE

Can't believe we actually won ALL of our 8 games in December, scoring 23 goals and conceding 3 (Napoli game included), and there were some pretty difficult games this month. A lot of us said "survive December and we might have a chance". Well not only did we survive December but we absolutely bossed the ***** month, top of the table with 9 points clear at the moment :buttrock . Incredible stuff really.

Make no mistake though, we are definitely favorites to win the league, no way around that now. Hope we can take the pressure. Personally, I don't think I'll be able to take another humiliation if we let the title slip from our hands again. I have full faith in Klopp and the players to win it for us this time though :buttrock

Long old way to got, but what a ride it's turning out to be. The city match is a biggie, but even a draw would be a good result for us. All the pressure is on City

I absolutely can not wait for the City game, bring it on.

A win or draw is pretty much the same result as we would find ourselves 7 to 9 points clear with less then half the season remaining.

We have the wood over them and the simple fact that City are leaking goals left, right and center means there is no better time to take the game to them on their on turf. A win and hopefully most of you on here will truly start believing.
