Loan watch - Season long updates

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby stmichael » Wed Aug 08, 2007 3:26 pm

Just seeing the thread about Paul Anderson has made me think that we'd be better off having one thread whereby we can monitor the progress of the liverpool players who are out on loan this season.

Adam Hammill has apparently been pulling down trees at Southampton in pre-season, including a hatrick in one game on their Norweigen tour.

Paul Anderson has gone on loan to Swansea as previously mentioned. He seems to have disappeared off the radar somewhat but getting a regular game in the lower leagues will do the lad good.

Danny Guthrie, having been on loan at Southampton last season, is now at Bolton on loan. I'm just a bit sceptical about how many games he'll play there, especially as he'll be competing with the likes if Campo, Nolan and Mccann.

Godwin Anwi is on loan at Hartlepool who will be on a high after just getting promoted to League 1.

Lee Peltier has gone on loan to Yeovil.

And apparently Mikel Roque has gone to Xerez in Spain for the season. Sabre, have you heard anything about this? Here is the translation.

All in all, good to see the lads all being given the opportunity to be playing regularly. We'll see how they get on and I'll report back on how they performed on Monday morning.

i think it would be a good idea to loan out as many as we can

surely playing competetive football in the championshiop/league 1 is better for their development then playing in the reserves.
but we have make sure they are going to play regular for the teams they are loaned to

i wouldnt loan out el zahr or insua as i feel they are ready for a few first team games
i.e league cup, early fa cup, champs league group games when points are in the bag, a few prem games off the bench

Going to be harder to find news on Antwi because he is a defender, might have to do a check in on Hartlepool-newkit once every other month to see how he is doing.  He seems to have played in every other friendly for hartlepool in the pre-season.

hello guys !
...and sorry for my very bad english (I'm french to TOULOUSE). I have a big problem : LIVERPOOL Fc is my favorite club (with TOULOUSE FC, Barça, O.M) , so, what can do for the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ? Perhaps a solution : LFC in UEFA Cup, and....TFC in Champion's league. You're OK ? (lol)  So, good luck for your season, and good travel in France !!!!

Add defender James Smith to the loan watch really random that I clicked on his wiki page today

and on 9 August 2007 he signed a one-month loan at Stockport County, with a possibility of extension to the end of the season

Danny Guthrie didn't make the squad for Bolton, who lost 3-1 at home to Newcastle.

Adam Hammill came on after an hour for Southampton who lost 4-1 at home to Palace.

Paul Anderson didn't get off the bench for Swansea, who lost.

I think the moral of this story is, play our frickin players! Southampton are on Sky tonight against Peterbrough in the Carling Cup so hopefully Hammill gets a runout there.
