After 29 LONG years, this is finally our season

If we do our job against Chelsea and Cardiff, then the hardest part would be done for us, last 3 games would be easier.

City would need to have 14 games winning streak at the end of the season if they want to win everything until the end. Until last season, that was a league record. Unfortunately, it's City that broke that record with 18 league wins in a row, so it's not beyond them :( . Let's just concentrate on ourselves though, pressure them until the end, and if they win everything as well, then fair enough they deserve it.

If we gain max points and city still win it, it will at least be easier to take than our spectacular collapse in 13/14. Painful but still encouraging, with players gaining experience at the very top, and fostering a never say die attitude that will serve us well for seasons to come.

I'm not so sure about it being easier to take.

Last time was more hope than expectation..with what happened up to December there was real expectation and in my view, there still is.

We win our last 5 I think we win it. City will drop points against Spurs and the Mancs.

Win or lose, this is one of the best teams we have ever had. The amount of money City has spent is outrageous but we are competing with them. This same Liverpool team in any other era would be walking the league as the premier league has never been so strong.

Our future is bright and we will find the success we have been yearning for. We have a great squad, manager, good owners, a great business model and the best fans in the world, what more could we need. Silverware is coming! City could end up winning the two domestic cups and we could win both the premier league and Champions League, it is all to play for and we have never been so equipped.

A read a stat this morning that City have won 23 of the last 24 games in all competitions. That's not an unbeaten run - they have won all but 1 game from the last 24!

Before the season started, the BBC asked their pundits who'd win the league. 21 said Man City and 3 said Liverpool. It gives you an idea of how well we've done this year.

Also they've won their last 14 games in all comps and their last 8 in the PL (this season's record is 9, held by us). They're in good form but nothing lasts forever, they're due to at least one loss or a draw at least, and as Carra said, hopefully that will be in the PL.

I can't really see them winning all of their PL games though, we just need to concentrate on doing our own job, City will eventually drop points.

I think it will be hugely deflating for us if we finish second this season after amassing a huge number of points, where would this leave us?

After squandering a seven point lead, we are now relying on man shittty to fck up in the run in!???
A team that plays like a steam train!

We're relying on lady luck it seems.

City losing to the Spuds last night shows once again that when faced by a determined team they are beatable. Cardiff rolling over in the first minute provide no opposition however the rest of their run in is a minefield.

This sunday's game LFC v Chelsea is massive, if we can get 3 points from that then we have a real chance.

I have a sneaky gut feeling Palace is going to detonate the biggest grenade this season and blow wide open the race to the title with a major upset!

Hopefully we have done enough to get through to the last 4 of the CL that’s not to say it won’t be tricky.

Last night as much as I want to see United thrashed in every game they play I didn’t really fancy the prospect of Barca in the semis. Having said that Barca were not that great but they have probably done enough unless United have the same ridiculous level of luck that got them past PSG. The second legs in all 4 games is going to be really interesting. Nothing is certain.

The dream of a crazy double is still alive !! Talk about edge of seat stuff  :help

I did this a little earlier in the season but here is an updated list of the number of PL and CL minutes Liverpool and Man City players have played this year. What it doesn't include is the FA and League cup games which I suspect may cause a few City players to climb up the list. I guess it's Salah, Robertson, Mané, Wijnaldum and Firmino we should be most worried about tailing off in the final month of the season.

Alisson 3780
Ederson 3690
Virgil van Dijk 3655
Mohamed Salah 3617
Andrew Robertson 3487
Sadio Mané 3428

Aymeric Laporte 3309
Georginio Wijnaldum 3091
Roberto Firmino 3074

Raheem Sterling 3018
Fernandinho 2895
Kyle Walker 2895
Bernardo Silva 2866
Trent Alexander-Arnold 2699
David Silva 2650
Sergio Agüero 2410
James Milner 2334
Fabinho 2106

Ilkay Gündogan 2097
John Stones 2084
Jordan Henderson 2080
Leroy Sané 2008
Riyad Mahrez 1637
Nicolás Otamendi 1631
Joel Matip 1625
Joe Gomez 1453
Naby Keita 1387

Gabriel Jesus 1351
Xherdan Shaqiri 1103
Oleksandr Zinchenko 1040
Kevin De Bruyne 995
Dejan Lovren 994
Fabian Delph 982
Danilo 922
Benjamin Mendy 900
Vincent Kompany 892
Adam Lallana 569
Daniel Sturridge 500
Divock Origi 336

Phil Foden 309
Alberto Moreno 163
Nathaniel Clyne 108
Rafael Camacho 1

Good post PC.

I'd be a bit worried about Van Dijk myself. Thought he looked a bit leggy lately and looked like he was limping a bit here and there. Keita is showing a bit of form, Shaquiri is also there and with Hendo more advanced I think we could cope without one of the front 3. Virgil on the other hand  :wwww

The way Mannure have dipped i think City will beat them convincingly. They were poor today against Westham and just about won.
