The alcohol thread - How much do you drink?

My only problem with drink is.. i've 2 hands and only one mouth, lol.
But In all honesty, I have a drink most nights off the week. Its only 1 or 2 beers as I dont drink wine or spirits . I have a problem getting to sleep and my doctor gave me Temazepam to help me sleep, but they gave me nightmares. I had to stop taking them. Having 1 or 2 beers gets me over to sleep and no bad dreams. I get up in the morning, bright as a button, ready to get on with life.
I know a few people who depend on alcohol just to get their day in and its not nice to see. Theres a guy in the estate where I live and hes only 23 and he got himself into a crowd that just drink all day. Everyone in this group is on the dole and they get their dole money on different days so they have their drinking money. This wee fella is now part of their wee clic and hes got a real problem now. Everytime I see him hes black and blue from the older ones in the group beating him up, but hes happy enough to stay with them as he knows hes gonna get a drink everyday. Its really sad to watch.

I'm beginning to think that there's quite a few on this board who allow the drink to take over their minds.

How else can one explain the utter drivel posted by the likes of Heimdall, The Rock, and Red @ Heart?

Being Irish, you'd think I'd be fond of the booze. I ain't. The whole stereotype of Irish being boozers is a myth...sort of. For one, ze Germans are more fond of the booze than we are. In fact, didn't England get rep'd a few years ago as having a binge drinking problem?

I tend to like a drink playing Poker, though. Can't really play unless I have a drink. My poison, oddly enough for someone who doesn't drink often, is spirits. Love whiskey. Will drink Vodka...raw, and anything else over 40%. I hate Goldslagger, though. Had a bad experience with it once. Will never touch it again.

I went to the Octoberfest a few years ago - great fun. The people of Munich say they are NOT german but are bavarian and have the same sterotypes of boring germans as the rest of europe.

The locals were funny as f*ck and really friendly. Best holiday for meeting the locals I've ever had.

While lots of people were drunk it wasn't intimidating and I saw no fights, just really friendly people.

There's no fights because the bouncers are ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE and carry UZIs.  :D

I used to drink heavily, now I average approximately a bottle of wine and seven pints of Guinness a week.
