Although I've never rated Keanu Reeves whose acting ability imo has all the emotional range of a flat pack wardrobe this movie provides an excellent vehicle for his limited talent. A fast paced tale of bent/rogue cops liberally doused with gang bangers, gunfights and blood . A kind of Serpico meets Rambo exercise in film making, goes great with a large bucket of popcorn but when it's finished you'll be hungry for something more substantial .

I enjoyed it Woof, thanks for the recommendation as I had never heard about it.

I think a better ending would have been if he had shot himself right at the end, but maybe thats just me lol.

A search through the town reveals two survivors: a baby and an old man. Why the virus spared them could provide the key for immunizing the populace. A crack team of scientists isolates themselves with the survivors in an underground laboratory, and now they only have a few days to find a cure before the world is destroyed.

Will let you know what I think of them later!!!

30 Days Of Night:- After an Alaskan town is plunged into darkness for a month, it is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of vampires.

Thought this was decent. I'd been waiting on it's release since I first seen the trailer. However, I just felt that there was no real sense of time. Maybe that was the intention being that it's supposed to be like that when there is 30 days of darkness, but as the characters got stranded, you could never tell how long they'd been hiding for.

Cloverfield:- Revolves around a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people.

The worst of the three picks. I hate films that are hyped for no reason whatsoever. The action and the special effects mask the fact that this is a shallow, senseless and cliche novelty film. It's Godzilla in a first person view, only more vague, and we all know how sh*t that film was. Original? No!

If it's the shaky cam thing you're into (a lot of people seem to be these days since Cloverfield built the hype for such a genre even though it wasn't the first) then I highly recommend you trying to get a copy of [REC]. I watched this last night, and I thought it was brilliant. A Spanish made horror film about a documentary maker making a film about firemen. When they get a call for a rescue in an apartment block, things take a turn for the surreal. For such a low budget film, it was pulled off amazingly well. Brilliant acting throughout, and genuinely creepy.

The Andromeda Strain:- An entire town is killed by a mysterious organism brought to earth by a returning satellite.

It was a long time ago that I seen this, but it's probably the best of the bunch if you can get past the fact that it's an old film. I'm not sure how well it's aged, but the story is very good. An excellent Sci-fi film that should be remade.

Who the hell comes up with these ideas and decides to turn it into a film? If it's about what I think it's about, I'll watch it.  :D
