spoiler alert

cheers for ruining doomsday!

Trust me - there is nothing to ruin. The film is an atrocious mess. It doesn't quiet know what it's trying to be. It's a hideous mutt of a film comprised of elements of Alien, 28 weeks later, Escape From New York, Mad Max, Excalibur (Yes, there are medieval parts with horses and swords and armor in the year 2000 and something. Make sense? Thought so.) and a few other references that I can't remember. Terrible film.

Watched Street Kings last night, starring Keanu Reeves, Forrest Whitaker and Hugh Laurie.

Although I've never rated Keanu Reeves whose acting ability imo has all the emotional range of a flat pack wardrobe this movie provides an excellent vehicle for his limited talent. A fast paced tale of bent/rogue cops liberally doused with gang bangers, gunfights and blood . A kind of Serpico meets Rambo exercise in film making, goes great with a large bucket of popcorn but when it's finished you'll be hungry for something more substantial .

Watched an old blast from the past last night. 'Sense of Freedom' about Jimmy Boyle - the notorious Glaswegian. Bit stale in parts but still worth a watch. Hayman was a class act as the lead.

You mean the bird in my signature and the head below? Those were drawn in Photoshop. The five star Liverbird looks well on a phone if you want to knick it?  :;):

21 was good, very different from what i expected watching the trailer. Nothing like an oceans 11 style elaborate scheme to rip off casino's, it turns into a different kind of film more character based.....and i watched cloverfield too and that was awesome. shot from a guy holding a hand-held camera like the blair witch film. not much explanation of what's going on but you enjoy the ride....

I'm off to Vegas in a couple of months.  Will be watching a few Vegas films the week before I go.  Anyone recommend some decent ones?

I watched Primer last night.  The Grand Jury winner at the 2004 Sundance festival.  About two geeky techie blokes who accidentally invent time-travel as a side effect of some electromagnetism mass-reducing machine experiment they were working on.

It was decent, you've really got to concentrate though as it's VERY techie, lots of techie and science jargon etc...

Saw all four mate.

I'll probably save 21 'til then.  I tried to watch The Cooler with Baldwin an H. Macy but it bored me.

Right now, I'm actially watching Andre The Giant's biography.  That in fact, is how bored I am.
