I'm going to throw a film on.  I've seen neither, what's it to be?

Rush Hour III or Jet Li's The One?

Nothing like an oceans 11 style elaborate scheme to rip off casino's, it turns into a different kind of film more character based.....and i watched cloverfield too and that was awesome. shot from a guy holding a hand-held camera like the blair witch film. not much explanation of what's going on but you enjoy the ride....

I thought cloverfield was a bit short, but its intense! the movie made me think that it was a true story!!

Neither. Go for comedy !

Admiral Benson: Pete 'Dead Meat' Thompson is dead. So is Mo Green, Tataglia, Barzini, the heads of all the five families. It is at moments like these, my dear friends, that we must ask ourselves: "How can this not be part of some larger plan?" Do good men like Dead Meat Thompson just blink out one day like a bad bulb? I mean, one minute you're in bed with a knockout gal... or guy, and the next, you're a compost heap. Doesn't that bother any of you? Because it scares the living :censored: outta me!

Hot Shots all the way !

Leaving Las Vegas

plot - In Leaving Las Vegas, Nicolas Cage plays Benjamin, an alcoholic who's lost his family and his job and moves to Las Vegas to quite deliberately drink himself to death over the course of four weeks' time. While he's there, he meets a hooker named Sera, played by Elisabeth Shue, these two are just about the neediest people on the planet, they immediately fall into a codependent relationship. Ben agrees to vacate his room at the $29-a-night Whole Year Inn (in an unusual moment of lucidity, Ben reads the sign as "the hole you're in") and move in with Sera on one condition -- she can never ask him to stop drinking.
A depressing but engrossing movie.

On a slighty lighter if violent note
3000 Miles to Graceland
plot - Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and co dressed as Elvis impersonators rob a Vegas casino, not too long before they turn on each other.
Was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this crime caper , Costner makes a great bad guy. (note to JMac, the robbery aside most of the film is outside Vegas)

On a completely whacky note
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
plot - Carrying a suitcase of drugs, Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp ) and his attorney Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) drive a red convertible across the Mojave from L.A. to Vegas, where Duke has an assignment to cover the Mint 400 desert motorcycle race. As the drugs kick in, Duke ventures into voiceover, filling in the blank spots and narrative gaps. "This is not a good town for psychedelic drugs,"  but even so Duke notes "We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug-collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

 , humorous and vaguely disturbing.

This weekend I will be watching the following......

Deception :-An accountant is introduced to a mysterious sex club known as The List by his lawyer friend. But in this new world, he soon becomes the prime suspect in a woman's disappearance and a multi-million dollar heist.

30 Days Of Night:- After an Alaskan town is plunged into darkness for a month, it is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of vampires.

The Deaths Of Ian Stone:- Deaths tells the story of an all-American guy who is murdered each day by horrifying pursuers, only to wake up in slightly different lives to experience the terror of being murdered again.

Cloverfield:- Revolves around a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people.

The Andromeda Strain:- An entire town is killed by a mysterious organism brought to earth by a returning satellite. A search through the town reveals two survivors: a baby and an old man. Why the virus spared them could provide the key for immunizing the populace. A crack team of scientists isolates themselves with the survivors in an underground laboratory, and now they only have a few days to find a cure before the world is destroyed.

Will let you know what I think of them later!!!

I think I'll watch it 1st. My son is into films in a big way and hes been going on at me to watch this one for ages. Like yourself Laza, I'm into my vampire films. I just watched Salems Lot again (for the 100th time lol). It never looses its appeal for me.

Has anyone out there watched "Donnie Darko"?? My son has given me the DVD to watch and was wondering is it worth a look?

For the record, I threw Jet Li' The One on at about 11:00pm last night.  Went to bed at midnight.  Still got half of it to watch, and watch it I will, otherwise it will eat away at me leaving something incomplete.

But if you take one thing from today, let it be this.

Don't watch Jet Li's The One.  It's fucking gash.
