The fact that a 59 year old can compete at that level shows that golf is a game, like chess, not a sport. I mean can you imagine Capello picking Kevin Keegan as England's centre forward in the world cup?

No unlike football in golf you need a brain and it doesn't matter as much about your fitness hence the reason they can play a lot older in age.

Sport implies good health.

Health is defined as a physical, mental and social well being.

Fitness is how ready the body is to carry out an activity. So Phil Taylor has high fitness with regards his sport.
