Maybe a bit of an understatement but they they are both individually and collectively technically better and more cohesive than us. They have  a better manager too.

Really i reckon it's pretty close. * indicates IMO the better player

Rough Positions, again bear in mind fully fit and full of confidence

Julio Cesar,  Reina *
Maicon*, Jonson
Lucio, Carra*
Samuel*, Agger
Chivu*, Koncesky
Zanetti*,  Lucas
Stankovic, Meiriles*
Biabiany, Kuyt*
Sneijder, Gerrard *
Coutinho, Cole*
Eto'o, Torres*

But then  compare that to 18months ago and look what we had then!!!

It just really shows how much NESV need to invest, and it has to start at the top with old man Woy

Rushy lad the only one of those choices I would say Liverpool have it better at the moment is Kuyt over the young lad, and thats only because I havnt see enough of him to properly judge him. In Cesar youve picked the one GK in the world who I believe is better than Reina. Honestly atm you really think Gerrard and Torres are better than Eto'o and Sneijder?

i agree.

also carra better than Lucio - fukking hell mate that's outrageous.

He's a bloody liability these days and that is the truth, I want to see Carra dropped and Agger and Skittles form a solid partnership. Carra could be used as a DM perhaps but he is way to slow at CD these days.

I have a lot of sympathy for Rafa because no matter what he ever does, some very short sighted people just won't give him credit.
When he won 2 la liga's with Valencia, the typical excuse is "but Barca and Madrid weren't as good back then".
When he won the Champions League with an average Liverpool team (with 2 quality additions that RAFA added), the excuse is that it was Houllier's team.  Same applies for getting to the Carling Cup final that year.
But when we finished 5th in the league.. that was Rafa's fault!
FA Cup in 2006... "well its only the FA Cup and we would of lost if it wasn't for Gerrard".
Charity Shield and Super Cup...they clearly don't count.
Champions League final 07 against a very good Milan side...all Rafa's fault that AC got a goal via a lucky deflection right before half time.  Why the hell didn't he play Crouch.
Runners up in the Premier League with our highest ever amount of points, also noting that Torres + Gerrard had injury problems... Rafa clearly screwed up with that crazy rotation policy that kept the squad fit.
7th in the league...sack him, he's clearly lost the plot and the dressing room.

onto Inter now and we're already hearing the excuses.  Its Jose's team.  Best team in Europe.  Actually its not, barca have that.  Anyone saying Inter have a better squad than Barca needs to get their head checked.

One last question though:  If Inter finished 10th this season... will it still be Jose's team?

It is clear that barca and inter  are the two best teams (people could argue either way) as Inter spanked chelsea, barca and Munich (who beat manure) with ease last year and have won the Italian league 5 years in a row let's not pretend benitez has a very tough job.

the liverpool stuff is ancient history, he's gone, get over it.

why would a "world class" manager need the pressure to be off?

Benitez did well is sending out an attacking team and actually going for it , so I give him credit.

However, Mourinho has given him the best team in europe and 5 times in a row league champions. He has an amazing squad (that Jose built).

Didnt Mancini build the squad and win the title for three years in a row and then Maureen spent a bit of money and brought in a few more players to improve it .

yes. you are correct.

Mancini built the best team in italy and then Jose took them to the next level in just 2 years and Inter looked head and shoulders above every other team in europe  last year (easily beat munich, barca and chelsea and won the treble in Italy).

No disrespect to Inter, I think they are currently the best team in Italy and have been for some time but I think you underestimate the significance of your biggest 2 rivals being docked points and relegated.

1-1 draw for Inter tonight at home to Sampdoria, a late goal from Eto getting a point for them. Lazio won so they stay top 4 points ahead of Inter, Ac Milan lay in third but they have a game in hand, away to Naploi on Monday night

Inter must sell to buy

Poor Rafa!  He must be so sick of having to sell to buy.
