fantastic display from luis today and fully deserved his hatrick :buttrock and what a hatrick it was :buttrock .
for me the 2nd goal was the best as the technique and placement was world class.
hope he rips it up in the few games we have left :D

We should have bought Jelavic.  Hes the kind of guy who would exploit Suarez' creativity !

While he would walk into our side upfront, Jelavic aint good enough for Liverpool.

Its a question of where we aspire to be. Do we aspire to challenge the top sides?... or.. do we aspire to challenge for 4th, 5th, 6th?

Luis Suarez is a grade 1 player. Top class. We should be looking for another top class partner that would have us fighting among the best, not a 2nd tier player such as Jelavic that would have us fighting for the best of the rest.

The concern that i have with Suarez (and it was evident even today) is that he is surrounded by mediocre players (Carroll didn't play today so i'm obviously not just referring to him) who feed him scraps. While Stevie set him up for the first, for the 2nd and 3rd goal.. Suarez had to create those chances out of nothing as he so often has to. There was no build up, no incisive play. His goal at Wembley.. he was fed by an everton back pass. Who creates chances for him? If not Gerrard.. who? Suarez has to create for himself such is the paucity of quality alongside him. Had he been in the 2009 team he would have had Alonso, Gerrard and Torres (even Benayoun) linking up with him...feeding him chances, and him in turn providing them. Today he largely has to feed himself, and very often the chance is a difficult one. Suarez doesnt get easy chances that he would do if he played alongside quality players that set him clear (such as the Mereiles assist at Arsenal). We are failing him with the lack of quality around him, and its imperative that we vastly improve that with new signings as i don't see him being here past summer 2013 if we don't.

Doesnt get easy chances?
He missed the easiest chance by trying to be a smart ar'se and chip the goalie

You misunderstand Thompson... again.. "Suarez doesnt get easy chances that he would do if he played alongside quality players that set him clear (such as the Mereiles assist at Arsenal)."

The shot he scooped over the bar (for what would have been his hat-trick goal) he created that chance for himself.. he had to nut meg a defender and burst through the defence. No one laid him in as is so often the case. He has to create for himself such is the lack of quality around him.

We are an average side with just two top class attacking players. Its why we sit 8th, and its why, on paper, we should get a hiding at Wembley next week.

The finest  hattrick I've ever seen ,from one of the most talented players I have ever seen in a Liverpool shirt ....Luis Suarez is a
world class talent .Over the years we have seen  many special players grace Anfield, but I believe Luis is one of the most naturally gifted .

The whole of Europe  would have seen Suarez's majestic third ,Barcelona will be salivating ,Real Madrid drooling ,and PSG realising they
need to add a hell of a lot  more digits to the figure they foolishly believed would prise him away from Liverpool ...

We can count ourselves truly lucky that such a phenomenal talent works his magic in the red of Liverpool ,while the whole of Europe
looks on enviously .....

The worst part is that earlier mostly only us have seen what Luis can do.... playing like this will bring in interests from other clubs. I hope our support will pay off with him not wanting to leave.

At the moment I bet he is worth 45-50 million.

the third goal especially.... its one of those special goals that put the spotlight on him... "i'm good me"

Real Madrid have already been linked (as have PSG but i dont see him in France).

Again, as i said, we have a massive summer in the transfer market ahead of us as next season is make or break. Not just for Kenny but for Suarez. He joined us in Jan 2011.. when we had no CL. Then hes had 2011/12 no CL. He wont have any CL in 2012/13. No way is he going to accept no CL in 2013/14.

The defence of average players IN A WAY is commendable.. a back your own type philosophy (due to delusion and/or loyalty). But defending average means accepting average.. so don't complain then when top class players such as Suarez want to be surrounded by better and take off.

You have hit the nail on the head here.

If Kenny gets another chance with the owners giving him another 50million to spend and he keeps bringing in overpriced British players the likes of Bent, Defoe, or any mid-table dross, do you honestly think Little Luis will stick around?

The happy clappers brigade may kiss the ground Kenny walks on but you can rest assured Suarez will be out the door before the window closes if this shambolic "buy local" strategy continues.  :no

I do believe he'll be gone if we don't qualify for CL next year.  And so will Pepe.
We need to do much better in the market this summer.  A striker, a good CM and a right winger are needed.

Just when I think you have embarrassed yourself with the repetative, boring sh'ite you come out with, you turn up after an emphatic display and a great victory telling us we are going to get tw@tted by chelsea next week because of Carroll! I would call you a name but I cant be ar'sed
You are DEFINITELY a woman and certainly no red. Your comments are the most depressing and divisive on here and it concerns me that people actually take notice of you, never mind agree with you. I actually dont enjoy taking the pi'ss out of you any more because you make it too easy.
And just for the record, Suarez would play the way he plays no matter who was alongside him because thats the way he is. I would suggest that he enjoys taking players on and creating his own chances because great players are like that: Best, Maradonna, Messi all did or do their own thing, which is what makes us love them.
Its not a chore

i think you have it wrong on jelavic mate.
dont let his scruffy appearance fool you and the fact that he cost very little but that lad is an excellent finisher and i wouldnt have complained if we had of signed him in january.
he is far from a classy player but he is one that knows where the net is and how to put them in.from what ive seen of the lad id say he is currently the best one touch finisher in the league.
