International duty

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Mon Sep 03, 2018 3:39 pm

In total and not inclusive of loan players, 17 players required to tip up for International duties  :(

Alisson, Mignolet, Van Dijk, Gomez, Lovren, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Keita, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Lallana, Shaqiri, Firmino, Salah, Mane, Solanke

Fingers crossed we're not left cursing these pointless friendlies once more .

Is it a friendly ? I thought a lot of them were playing in that UEFA Nations League Comp they are playing now

It’s part of the course now - if you want the best players then they are going to be Internationals and this is one of those dates in the season when they play. All our rivals will have the same problems - fingers crossed there are no issues to the main guys

Lallana is an absolute knacker now. Should have moved him on this summer if possible or in January now. Paying these guys millions to do gym rehabilitation is so frustrating. Sometimes I wonder if these guys have bespoke training at their clubs and a change to that programme during internationals causes injury problems.

They do - that’s what screwed Sturridge, he had a bespoke training it was given to England and that old f*ck Owl Face ignored it hence his torn muscle

Lallana is finished imo probably will get 4 games a season off him. As long as we can use him for league cup games.

He's hardly kicked a ball for two years, whilst trousering a huge wad of wages each week.

He'll never get into our first eleven regularly again. Klopp fancies Milner, Hendo and Wjnaldum ahead of Lallana anyhow. Injury lay offs mean it's difficult to get your place back.

Look at Nathaniel Clyne. Can't get into our squad again currently.

Just get rid.

Actually it was just last season he was injured - the season before he played just under 40 games.

If you are going to blurt stuff at least make it factually correct

And you can’t “just get rid” of players

No one knows exactly the extent of the injury - it could just be a minor precaution

If you actually watch any Liverpool games you will see that Lallana is garbage, with no end product. His age means he is prone to more and more injuries. With the addition of Keita and Fabinho, there is no room for him anyway.

If Oxlaide-Chamberlain was fit now I'm certain Lallana would have been sold.

One of the things that excite me the most about this side is the thought of seeing a midfield 3 of Fabinho, Keita, and Lallana playing behind the front 3.

Lallana has been unlucky with injuries. The season before last he was one of our best performers and pretty much set the tone with his pressing from a deeper central position and impact down both ends. It's a pity many posters seem to have forgotten how important he was to the side. Even Klopp mentioned AT THE END OF LAST SEASON that he couldnt believe we managed to achieve what we did without Lallana being there for the majority of the season. A couple of months before that Klopp said that Lallana was one of the 3 or 4 best players in the England team.

Let's hope it's nothing too serious. We're a much better side when he's fit and playing in his best position.

To call Lallana garbage makes me question if you have been watching us play, he’s not world class but certainly not garbage. He has great energy, winning and keeping possession well but does not score enough. His pressing from the front and midfield is second to none and was instrumental in building our attacks. He has been injured last season and now again, it does happen, certainly not garbage though (not to those that understand football anyway).

Sorry but you don’t really have a clue

Lallana is not garbage and does have an end product.

Last season he had injuries which killed his whole season

There is plenty room for him
