The first one gets tested and if anything shows up the relevant person is then notified of a rule breach and is then advised to seek legal representation/advice.

The B sample remains sealed and untested till notice is served and at the offenders request can be opened and tested while him and his legal representatives are present. If it is negative then said charge is withdrawn but if it confirms the offence the offender begins an immediate suspension.

There is no added punishment for requesting it be tested as far as I know. If he chooses not to get it tested then he is probably guilty.

cheers, mate. so he has nothing to lose by submitting it then really? maybe by some bizarre circumstance all the banned substance was concentrated in the A sample....  :lookaround

Surely Sakho would have had the sense to consult the club doctor before taking anything like that. I understand there'll be a list of things that he won't understand that will require a club doctor so chances are he wouldn't have even knew it was illegal the fact there's precedent here goes against him and he'll likely be banned unless (by some miracle) the B sample is clean.

It's strange though because I was reading that some fat burners are allowed and others aren't. What counts performance enhancing can be pretty subjective, I mean even protein shakes could fall into the bracket because of the effect they have.

He'll receive a lengthy ban, and he will deserve it for being an idiot

A few of the newspapers have been saying that he had weight issues under Brendan, apparently Rodgers want impressed with his conditioning and dropped him on more than one occasion because of it.

They weren't actually blaming Brendan mate, they were saying Brendan ran a tight ship and wouldn't compromise on fitness, if any player was overweight he wouldn't play

I've read he's not contesting the test results. Gonna be a long ban

If it's 6 months, ala Kolo, does that cover the summer?

I wouldn't have thought so mate, I'd imagine if it is 6 months then it will be 6 months of playing time, the ban would be effectively halved if the off season was included.

Actually I respect Rodgers more now. People at the beginning of the season were criticising him for not playing Sakho which goes to prove that a lot happens behind the scene that we as fans have no clue about. If I was manager I would have benched him too.

Just because he declined the b sample be tested does not make him necessarily a w@nker. Maybe by accepting things he gets less of a ban. He still could have taken the fat burning drug not knowing it was banned as some are allowed. Since finding out it is banned he might have decided to take it on the chin to spare further embarrassment. I doubt if he knew it was banned he would have taken it as they get tested and he must know this. Footballers are not the sharpest tool in the shed and the list of banned substances probably may well be confusing.

Totally agree, it does indicate he's a bit of a liability and definitely careless in terms of what he is taking however

I understand it must be a nightmare looking at the list of things that are and aren't allowed, for the most part it'll likely be medical jargon that Sakko won't understand so he's probably thought 'what's the worst a fat burning substance can do'. Which could be a valid question if there wasn't precedent for this already but he really should have consulted the club doctor (if he has done then the doc wants a slap n all)
