even the best players f**k up, alan hansen did the same thing in the 1978 european cup final but phil thompson got back to clear the ball of the line.
i thought in terms of his general defending he was getting somewhere near back to his best.

Gerrard? remember when he passed it back to Thierry Henry? or to Drogba?

It happens, players will learn from their mistakes and move on

Yep, he did that at Highbury.

Bonehead's contract at 70,000 a week only covers the first 89 minutes of the game, not the 90th.

He will be as gutted as anyone.

Can't imagine there will be many berating him. He had a great game up to then.

Maybe I should have punched him?
Two massive errors yesterday.
First one was turning his back and jumping like a little girl instead of blocking the shot for their first goal. Second the blunder of losing concentration with a simple lack of ball control for their second. Luckily it didnt cost us but he has to recognise that things like this can make or break us.
Come on Martin lad, dont make me come down there...

You really should save your 1st knuckle sandwich for Pepe. It was his poxy throw out that gave posession straight back to Norwich and he then failed to do anything with the first shot at goal and instead put it on a platter for them. He's shocking at the moment. My confidence in him is all but gone.

Im not saying Pepe wasnt at fault as well.
But Skrtel has to do his job too, and part of that is to pull the goalie out the sh'it, and not put him in the sh'it in the first place!
Pepes form is a concern, but Skrtel is doing us no favours with his co'ck ups

Skrtel has a very poort track record ,except last year ,his overall performance in LFC was shocking. I wouldn't mind playing Wisdom right now instead of Martin. He is not a composed player ,pretty nervous and to say the least not smart.

the defence is starting to become a concern now, if we keep on conceeding at an average of 2 goals a game that means we will have to score an average of 3 goals a game just to get 3 points, those are the types of ratio`s and stats relegation fodder are usually faced with not a team with top 4 asperations.
the only good thing is that 90% of the goals we have conceeded have been down to player error, i cant see players constantly making f**k up`s week in week out for 9 months so sooner or later the defence will tighten up.
last season we conceded 40 goals in 38 games and that total wasnt anything to write home about (in 78/79 we conceded 16 goals in 42 league games) but we will be doing well to even match that now, we have conceded 10 already and there are still 33 games left.
we will have to conceed at a ratio of less than 1 goal a game from now on in to match last seasons unremarkable effort, thats how leaky we have been early doors this season.
to be fair there`s not much the manager can do, it`s not just 1 player everyone has dropped at least 1 clanger, skrtel has, reina has, kelly has, johnson has and even agger has.

Just watching the Norwich game again.
Skrtels performance was disappointing, especially the turning his back and jumping like a little girl when their forward shot at our goal.
Man up Martin!!!

At the top level you need to be ready to step in at any moment and stake your claim. Skrtel got his chance today and blew it. Granted he didn’t get a great deal of protection but he looked nervous and should have prevented the first and third goals. He’s definitely what people call a “confidence player”, another way of saying mentally fragile, and not too many of those play regularly for top 4 teams.

If we are to improve our defense then we need start finding a replacement for Skrtle. Yes he has been good for long stretches but when he is off his game, he makes very very costly errors. It's not good enough. The third goal was terrible. He was slow to react and just kept watching the southampton player pass him and didn't make a single move to stop it...
