No, I haven't got what I wished for because I never wished for Kenny to be replaced. I wanted Kenny to be a success here and I am saddened by his exit. I feel he should have been given another season, however I can understand why FSG have chosen to dispense of his services, even if I don't agree with their decision.

i've read your earlier post on the matter ................I think "excellent" was your first response to ther news so make your mind up lad ! You say its a sign that Fenway won't accept medicrity ? Whose mediocre then ? Kenny Dalglish I assume.

So I suppose you believe Ambramovich is assertive in appointing 2 managers a season then ?

We are becoming the "Chelsea of ther North" and your appauding it as good practice !

Arsenal and Man Utd both qualified for the Champions League......

We didn't !!

To foreign owners who buy the club to make a financial gain it is the money that talks rather than winning trophies

Kenny deserved more time. Especially due to the fact he was progressing well and he brought in silverware. However the "Suarez" affair on top of average form has cost him. I have family that stay in Boston and some locals were shocked at Kenny's attitude in front of the media. Suggested that the owners disagreed with his stand-off attitude.

We all know that was his style though........

I'm a bit gutted right now and really not sure what else to say until it sinks in.

We need a bit of continuity right now.  No guarantee the new manager will do any better, but he'll want his own players and coaching staff etc... I just feel we are back to square one again.  How much time will the new man get to rebuild before results are deemed not good enough and he's out the door too? Where does it end?

This new fu.cking sky generation of fans, pundits and 'experts' who demand instant success are killing this game.  Killing it.

I'm saddened by this. I wish Kenny all the best for the future.

This was my first post, so you're wrong! I never once used the word "excellent".

If you re-read my posts you'll find that I am critical of the fact that this club will soon be appointing its fourth manager in as many seasons. You'll also notice how I question whether a constant revolving door in regards to managers will bring about sustained and long-term success to which I came to conclusion that it cannot when looking at clubs like Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Chelsea.

You clearly have not read my posts, Dalglish or you have me mixed up with someone else.

It benefits clubs to win silverware, didn't Liverpool receive £30m for winning the Champions League? Plus the £20m for qualifying? That's £50m from one competition. Add the Premier League title into the mix and you're looking at something ridiculous like £80m for winning two trophies. Any owner who thinks winning trophies is secondary is an absolute tool because FSG can make a killing from making us the top team England and one of the top teams in Europe once more.

Hi Boxscarf, I apologise unreserveadly mate. I think it may have been D_C who said "excellent" about Fenway's ruthless decision making today. I have spent the last 10 mins trying to find it in this ever lengthening thread  but please accept my sincere apologies.................

i know mate there qualified for the champions league
but like i said we are far behind the likes of both Manchester teams
we were not going to turn it round that fast to qualifier for the champions league in just over a season when you see what these teams spend every transfer window
like you said it is about money and we need a massive overall on quality players
but it is a bit like catch 22 players will not come to us unless we are in the champions league
i just think Kenny needed another season even just to get fourth spot in the league.

I accept your apology, it's not a big deal, I am just a little fed up of being constantly attacked, if it's not Red Beer Goggles, it's Roger Red Hat that's having a pop at me for something or another. I know I have been one of Kenny's biggest critics last season, but I have taken absolutely no pleasure in seeing that man sacked as our manager. Despite my criticisms of Dalglish last season, I fully respect the man as a person, as a manager and as a great custodian for Liverpool football club. He epitomises everything that is special and unique about this football club and he didn't deserve to be sacked. However despite this, I can understand from a business point of view why FSG have chosen to wield the axe at Kenny, even if I feel the decision is premature.
