Yes why would the club want one of our best managers in recent times back at the club.
this is why

I wonder if they have a backup plan for say late September/October if things start badly next season.

I also wonder about FSG in the long term. Their expertise in terms of sport before they bought Liverpool was along the lines of US baseball. It's a completely different kettle of fish in terms of soccer in the english premiership on and off the field. Their grasp of the situation I think may have been wanting the appointment of Comolli at the time seemed to indicate this. Even KK they weren't convinced initially was the man to turn it around. Then they decide to back him while firing Comolli two days before a cup semi-final presumably because they thought Liverpool would triumph in that competition.
I have a feeling that if KK does get another vote of confidence after the end of the season he's not going to have much to play with in terms of cash over the summer. A few are going to have to leave in order for many more to come in. Whoever does come in this summer will have to make a better impact than last summer's signings. I'm hopeful of better things from Carroll, Henderson and Downing but I have to be honest and say that without a dramatic improvement in form at the start of next season I can't see Liverpool in the top four this time next year. Fifth or sixth is a possibility.
I understand peoples negativity and caution. This season has left a bad tatse in al our mouths.
BUT. Football is all about confidence and belief and LFC is nothing if not a beacon for all other clubs to look up to and follow. We havent got the money of City, we dont cheat like united, we have more soul and trophies than arsenal and we have more class, history and heritage than spurs and chelsea put together.
We have been damaged this season by our enemies, but we will come back stronger because we have what no-one else has - we have US: the fans, the players, the manager, the owners, the club. We are made up of the past, the present and the future. All the things that make us what we are. Liverpool Football Club, the best in the world!
Sorry but can you list any clubs that see us as some kind of beacon of hope, it's this kind of sentimental drivel which drives me mad. It has no basis in fact whatsoever, also everyone saying next season will be better, that is also blind faith with no facts attached to it.
The reality is that next season HAS to be better otherwise we'll become another has-been club, this is why it's so imperative that we replace Kenny with a competent manager.

Also he didn't issue any come and get me plea - that was just the headline created which obviously you swallowed up which once again is no surprise.
You want Kenny out and replaced by a manager to get us into the top 4 - we there is someone who has proven to do that on a regular basis but I forgot you have in the past demanded he was also sacked.

righto Benny, the fact we didn't win a game for 6 weeks after that had no connection with Rafa ranting, eh?![]()
I can only assume your paranoia over the media means you don't watch television, otherwise you'd have seen Rafa on the BBC touting himself for the Chelsea job. It was blatant, it was obvious, it was cringeworthy watching Rafa outline why he'd be a great Chelsea manager. IT also had the Chelsea fans going into meltdown, because they didn't want him.

Didn't win a game for 6 weeks ? Are you sure ?
Rant was on 9th Jan
We then drew three league games and an FA Cup game then beat Chelsea on the 1st Feb ( that's 3 weeks later ) then lost to BS in cup but then won away at Pompey then beat Real etc and then kept on winning bar a defeat at Boro. We never once went 6 weeks without winning during that season - that is what's called a correct "fact" unlike yours.

ok, maybe it wasn't 6 weeks, but we were top of the league and Rafa didn't need to lower himself to reply to purple noses games. He did, we lost and the rest is history.
Bringin Rafa back wouldn't work. FACT
