Alvaro Arbeloa could be set to return to Liverpool during the January transfer window, according to reports.

The defender, who left Anfield for Real Madrid in 2009, has recently been linked with a return to the Premier League, with both Arsenal and Chelsea also said to be monitoring his situation.

But Arbeloa is reportedly ready to reject a move to the capital in order to return to Merseyside, according to the Express.

The 31-year-old is said to have become frustrated with life under Carlo Ancelotti, who favours youngster Dani Carvajal at right-back, leaving Arbeloa on the sidelines.

Liverpool on Brink of Nabbing £8m Lavezzi

Paris Saint Germain's chase of Nicolas Gaitan has opened the door for Liverpool to tie up a move for international team-mate Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to the Express.

Lavezzi has been a long term target for the Merseyside outfit, with PSG initially beating Liverpool to his signature in 2012 when he decided to leave Napoli.

However, coach Laurent Blanc is now willing to offload the player for a cut-priced fee in order to free up funds to sign the Benfica winger, with Liverpool the primary beneficiaries.

Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli's agents REVEAL Liverpool's January transfer plan

LIVERPOOL outcasts Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini will not be returning to their native Italy in the January transfer window.

According to their respective agents, the duo will not be leaving Anfield for Italy.

Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola said: "[Balotelli] has a contract with Liverpool and can't really be offered to other clubs.

"He chose to leave Italy and was aware of what he was leaving; he hasn't had the success he was hoping for, but he still needs time.

"Juventus have denied their interest in him, and I have had absolutely no contact with Inter [Milan], so that's the current situation now."

Borini's representative Marco de Marchi has also denied his player will be leaving Anfield.

"Borini will not return to Italy in January.

"He is happy with Liverpool, the club he is playing for."

With striker Daniel Sturridge to return from a long injury lay-off later this month, the pair are set to slip even further down the pecking order.

In the absence of Raheem Sterling, who was given a short break by manager Brendan Rodgers, Borini was preferred to his fellow countryman in Saturday's victory at Sunderland but neither are likely to feature prominently in the remainder of the season.

Liverpool have been boosted in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi as the Ligue 1 giants line up Nicolas Gaitan as his replacement.

The Reds are long-term admirers of the Argentine international, having lost out to PSG to sign him from Napoli in 2012.

But Lavezzi could finally arrive at Anfield for a measly £8m with PSG looking to offload the 29-year-old in January.

The Ligue 1 giants are aiming to improve their Financial Fair Play situation by reducing their wage bill, with Lavezzi on a sizeable salary of £3.5m per season.

Liverpool are being linked with an £8m move for Paris Saint-Germain front man Ezequiel Lavezzi, who could be on the move.

It is not the first time the Reds have been linked with the Argentine international having originally lost out on the forward when he signed for PSG from Napoli back in 2012.

PSG are now trying to offload the 29-year-old as they are seeking to lower their wage bill in order to improve their Financial Fair Play situation and Lavezzi is said to earn around £3.5million per season.

Much could depend on whether PSG boss Laurent Blanc lands his replacement target, Nicolas Gaitan, as the Benfica wideman is also wanted by Manchester United.

Liverpool are prepared to pay £5m for Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun who has been likened to an 'Iranian Lionel Messi'.

Reports in Russia say the 20-year-old is on the radar of Brendan Rodgers with the player likely to move to the Premier League and a number of offers expected from other clubs in England.

Azmoun currently plies his ride at Rubin Kazan but the club's CEO, Ayrat Garayev, has no intention of letting his star striker go.

But according to a report from Russian news source Izvestia, if the player impresses whilst away at the Asian Cup, offers may be forthcoming and the club may release him if a suitable amount is bid.

The Iranian featured in his national side's opening Asian Cup match, coming on as a substitute and will be looking to increase his appearances as the tournament goes on.

Liverpool have been handed a massive boost in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

According to The Mirror, the Ligue 1 giants are willing to let him go and are lining up Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan as his replacement.

The Reds are long-term admirers of the Argentina international, having lost out to PSG in their attempts to sign him from Napoli in 2012.

Now, however, Lavezzi could finally arrive at Anfield for just £8 million, with PSG looking to offload the 29-year-old in January.

Real Madrid's Alvaro Arbeloa will reject a move to Arsenal or Chelsea in favour of a return to old club Liverpool, according to the Express.

The 31-year-old is said to be frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities with the Spanish giants having only started five La Liga matches.

The former Spain international has reportedly told friends that he is seeking a move away from the club this month and fancies a switch to his former club.

Liverpool are ready to meet Fiorentina's £2m asking price for Brazilian keeper Neto according to the Liverpool Echo.

The 25-year-old custodian is out of contract in the summer and his Serie A employers are ready to accept a cut-price bid this month in preference to seeing the goalie leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Neto has spent the past four years in Florence and is a very able performer.

Liverpool are ready to battle West Ham for the signature of Alex Song at the end of the season, according to reports in Spain.

Song is currently on a season-long loan from Barcelona at Upton Park and has impressed as the Hammers have found themselves among the European places.

West Ham are reportedly keen to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis at the end of the season and are ready to begin negotiations with Barcelona.

However, according to Spanish news outlet fichajes.net, Liverpool are ready to rival West Ham for Song's signature.

The Reds were interested in Song during last summer's transfer window, but decided against making a move for the 27-year-old.

But, after seeing Song's performances this season, manager Brendan Rodgers is said to have reconsidered his stance on the midfielder.

Why he needed convincing on a season long loan is anyone's guess.

I heard that there were discussions between Inter and PSG late last year for Lavezzi and we're happy for him to go to Inter. Then moving forward, PSG we're going to have  discussions with Lavezzi about his wages i.e. reducing his wages, however, for whatever reason  he did a runner and went to South America without permission. Because of this, I doubt Inter will continue with buying his services.

I think PSG offered  Chelski  the player in exchange for a Chelksi player, Chelski decided not to take up the offer (forgot who PSG asked for).

Anyway, he is an attacking  midfielder,  and we have some  of those already at LFC.

Others that I think are  interested of the top of my head are Valencia, Napoli and Eversh1te.
