I think Cole is a good player but he seems to be injured more that Torres which is worrying. I still can't believe no big club has gone for Fabiano yet, he can score for fun in La Liga, Champions league and Internation level.

I agree that Cole has come on leaps and bounds in the past 12-18 months but he is he really the kind of 'top drawer' signing we should be settling for?? I agree that he would do a job but is he not in the Crouch mould (i.e. BIG target man), the same guy who rafa sold as he didn't fit into the system and the who wanted to leave LFC as he wasn't getting enough football? Would we not fall into the same trap with Cole? Unless Rafa is looking to change the system to fit someone like Cole in then would he not be better off looking for someone who could partner Torres upfront rather than look for a stop gap when/if Torres is injured? Could Cole play up top on his own with Gerrard/Benni/Aquaman off him? I don't know....

Van Der Vaart would be more than welcome at Anfield. Real class player who I think would fit into the EPL well. Offers us options in midfield as can play central, wide or off a striker.

Where has all this money come from anyway??? Linked with Cole (£15m+) and VDV (£13m) - last I heard we didn't have 2 pennies to rub together. Sell Dossena and Babel to fund? That will get you £10m - £12m MAX

Van Der Vaart should be our number 1 target...He can play on the left.....on the right :buttrock

Really? I seem to remember him playing mostly in central and then a bit on the left but never the right. I might be wrong though as I haven't seen that much of him recently.

NO, VDV is not a right winger. In fact he has never played on the right before, he's mostly played as a central/attacking mid and occasionally on the left.

The jury is out on Carlton Cole - he has developed a lot of the last year but I still struggle to see him as a great striker, certainly not one worth £20 million. He seems to rely on confidence, he knows at West Ham he is a star where as at other clubs, and to start with at Upton Park, he was a fringe player who never upped his game and looked pretty dreadful. I would worry if we were playing that much money for a striker like him, he is not going to be first choice and his morale and form could plummet as a result.

Van der Vaart would be an excellent signing, he has always looked like a very skilful player and could give some added attacking threat from the midfield.

Real Madrid wanted to sell VDV, and they paid about 13.000.000€ for him when he was considered a best player than he is now. He must have a big salary too, so it is more dificult to sell someone who is paid high...u never should pay more for him that they paid, i guess about 10.000.000€ would be a good offer if the tema wants to sell him and the player wants to move, but he is playing in the last matches from the bench. In agoust he was told to leave the club...

VDV is someone Liverpool have needed for a long time, someone with some spark and vision, he's still young too, get rid of Voronin, Babel and a few others and get VDV and RVN in a deal :;):
