Lennon plus money for keane?

Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Moved to the Rumour Mill as per usual policy on transfer speculation.

It's an interesting one, though.  I think Lennon's been overrated in the past but I also feel he has qualities our team needs more of.  I note that the article is ambiguous about who we're talking about though.  Redknapp would let "one of his two young Englishman go."  Sounds like paper talk rather than anything substantive.

completely hypothetical as under premier league rules, keane can't return to spurs within 12 months of leaving them.

jenas? yeah we really need him.

I'm not sure how correct that is StMike. Defoe left Spurs 31/1/ 2008 Returned 6/1/2009. I thought it was couldn't play for three teams in the same season? Keane hasn't played for Spurs this season, so I think it might be possible. It might be possible I am talking bollox as well though   :D

I'd take Lennon & Jenas if that was a offer. Lucas could be offloaded then & we'd have a better balance in the midfield. As for being short on strikers, Kuyt was banging them in at the start of the season & his contribution from the right has waned. I think he needs putting back in the front line & get Lennon flying on the right. I know that peoplke will be sad to see Keane go but he's never looked a Liverpool player. Off the pace & head goes down far to early.

Wouldnt take anyone called Jermaine on principle.

Agree with Woof, Lennon was a great prospect 3-4 years back but hasnt developed into the shining star he had the possibility to become.

To right off 5 million as someone suggested plus take into account his wages we´ve already paid........ what a freaking disaster Keane has been. And I like the lad!

Nevermind Lennon.
Imagine Jenas playing 3rd even maybe 4th fiddle behind Xabi or Mascher in midfield???

I doubt Rafa would want to admit buying Keane was a huge mistake just at the moment, so I think we will probably hang on to him till the Summer at least.

If we could get anything like our money back I would jump at the chance, he was never what we really needed and I think we could get better for £20million.

On-loan Nemeth suffers injury blow
Blackpool have been dealt a blow after on-loan Liverpool striker Krisztian Nemeth fractured his cheekbone in Tuesday's 3-0 home defeat to QPR.

The Hungarian, who only arrived at Bloomfield Road on a one-month loan on Monday, received a knock to the face minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute.

A scan confirmed he has suffered a fractured cheekbone and he has been referred to a specialist, potentially ruling him out of action for the remainder of his loan spell.

Not a great start to his spell at Blackpool, hopefully he will soon recover and start knocking a few goals in.

How the hell can a fractured cheekbone keep you out? Maybe a week or something to let the swelling down, but thats it surely.

That's gotta hurt - a baptism of fire for Nemeth in his league debut - welcome to English football
