It worked out ok with Torres didnt it?

I think when Rafa is allowed to spend big he normally gets it right.

Silva would be class here and can play on both wings or as a forward, Would work great with Nando and Stevie as well.

I think Silva could be really good and the difference between a draw and a win at home against a team defending, just the bit of flair we need to unlock defences.

That won`t leave alot of money left for other signings unless we sell a few players,maybe even xabi.

Ballague was on SSN last night and when asked about Silva he did say that he would be ideal for us due to his versatility. However it depends on whether Real Madrid get Ribery or not. If they do they'll be no need for Real to go Silva and Barca wouldn't exactly need him at this stage either.

When you consider we'll probably sell on a few players + the kitty Rafa has apparently been promised I think you'll find that we'll have a decent sum of cash to spend...

Tevez - £25m
Silva - £15m
Barry - £8m
Johnson - £6m

Total = £54m

Think we'd probably manage to recoup £20m from the sale of some of the fringe players and we might be able to get all of the above!! :eyebrow

People seem to be quite set on Barry. If we don't sell Alonso, what position, and in what system do people see him playing ? I'm not so sure myself, I can't help wondering if that particular ship has sailed.
