Danny Sturridge is good like. Ripped us apart in the final of the youth cup. He's proved his worth when he gets a game as well.

Why do we have so much disquiet with first team players?

We´re supposed to mess around with Reserves finding the right players and formation so that when they become first team there is a seamless transition.

Its very odd for a senior club to have first team issues with so many players - Keane, Babel, Kuyt, Agger etc... and shows we still havent got the right structure and level of operational efficiency in place. We wont win the league nor become a strong force until we do.

"Pennant heads to Pompey

Jermaine Pennant has completed his move to Premier League rivals Portsmouth. Pennant has joined the south cost outfit on loan for the rest of the current campaign where he will then weigh up his options in a bid to revitalize his career. An initial fee of 2 Million Pounds was first agreed between the two clubs, however Pennant has now joined Tony Adams's team on a loan spell instead.

Pennant, who has made more than 60 appearances for Liverpool, does no longer feature in Rafael Benitez's plans and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, it now looks as though Pennant will leave Anfield at the end of the season on a free transfer.

Pennant has enjoyed successful spells at Notts county and Birmingham City, as well as archrivals Arsenal. But since his 6.7 Million pound move from Birmingham in the summer of 2006 has struggled to cement a place in Liverpool's team and will be looking to make the most of his time at Fratton Park."

6.7 million 2 years ago plus wages...... what a waste.

Jol is a massive fan of Kuyt and he must have some money to spend after Man City paid out about £15 million for De Jong. Apparently he was after Kuyt in the summer but we said no.

Great shout on Sturridge. A real prospect who, if he's got sense, will get out of Man City as his 1st team chances will be very little with the expected influx of superstars. A welcome addition at LFC if you ask me.

I'll probably get shot down for this but...I think we should move for Michael Johnson. OK he's gone off the boil a bit but he has undoubted talent and I think training with the likes of Gerrard, Xabi, Mascha and Lucas ( ) will bring the best out in him!

And his 1st team chances would be any better with us?

We already have two players with imo at least as good potential as Sturridge in Nemeth and Pacheco.  Neither has had as much of a sniff of first team football this season.  Buying more 'potential' is pointless imo.

Liverpool’s La Liga target could cost £20million

Liverpool Football Club will have to break the bank for Fernando Navarro.

Once again, Reds manager Rafael Benitez is prepared to return to Spain in an attempt to bolster his title-chasing squad at Anfield.

Reports suggest the former Valencia coach is keen to add left-back Navarro to his squad, with a move expected to be made before the transfer deadline of February 2.

However, it would seem unlikely that the Merseyside club would be prepared to meet the £20million release fee for the 26-year-old, who is contracted to Sevilla until June 2013.

Plus I thought Insua was coming along nicley? If Rafa ends up buying another LB then that will only hamper Insuas progress. I say just buy someone for backup,

Whenever we have a position issue he runs off to Spain. There have to many many, many other alternatives either witin the UK or the rest of europe that would be equal or better than these lads however Rafa goes to spain and the price goes up. Why dont we go looking for bright young Germans, best defenders in the world.

If he spends 20mil on a left back, hes lost it. No left back in the world is worth that.

Micah Richards, £5mil. Get him Rafa.

Just when I thought I'd heard it all....

not the most reliable source I know, but can you imagine....

JUVE WANT KUYT FOR £28M - REPORT

Juventus are ready to launch a £28m bid for Dirk Kuyt, according to frankly unbelievable reports in Italy.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims that negotiations will begin next week as Juventus seek a replacement for Pavel Nedved.

The Czech star's agent Mino Raiola has told Juve that he will not accept a pay-as-you-play deal so the Old Lady have apparently turned to Kuyt instead.

Any bid would inevitably test the relationship between Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez and the club's American owners as Kuyt is clearly one of Benitez's favourite players.
