Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

Postby Roger Red Hat » Thu Jan 15, 2009 2:26 pm

If our players get wind of their contracts running out this year and no money to renew them and start looking for another club to go to then good ridance to them. Playing for the club should be in their hearts despite weather or not they have a bastd contract or not. ffs, If I played for Liverpool and my contract had just lapsed I'd say 'so fking what? I play for Liverpool contract or not'. As long as the lads get paid as usual and play their blx off who gives a sheite?

as for man.city, Like I said earlier, players dont want to play for them. Despite their money. If that had of been ManU or liverpool or Chelsea then I'd say Kaka would've signed straight away but Man City ffs?? nah ta.
Sex, drugs and sausage rolls!

we should not sell him at ant price if we want to be taken seriously as a club moving towards becoming a premiership title winning team.  I rate Agger higher than Skirtle, who for me gets caught ball watching a bit too much at the moment
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

From The Mail Online

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport....TO=1490

Portsmouth have made a £2million bid for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant and hope to open negotiations over the weekend.

Sportsmail revealed last month that Pennant, who turned 26 yesterday, was the subject of a stunning approach from Spanish champions Real Madrid, but the move
broke down over personal terms.

Coach Juande Ramos wanted to revive the deal but was told to consider other targets.

AC Milan have also made an offer to Pennant for the end of the season when he is out of contract.

Pennant, who joined Liverpool for £6.5m in 2006, had been sounded out by Hull City and Wigan but is reluctant to commit himself to a long-term deal and may prefer to agree a loan instead so that he can weigh up his options in the summer.

Portsmouth manager Tony Adams is determined to add to his squad and Pennant’s
price falls within his budget as he weighs up another move for Newcastle’s Joey
Barton.

Looks like that Arshavin is going to Arsenal, Wenger has just said he is confident of signing him before the January Transfer window closes.

I hope he does Nan. Players such as him deserve a bigger stage. It'll actually be really interesting to see how he goes, as many people on here have been absolutely convinced for some time that he is an excellent player who would have filled our "creative second striker" role.

The World and his brother must have looked at him by now, and it'll be very interesting to see whether Wenger has been sucked in or has been inspired in being the one the one to take the plunge.

Foir my part I only saw him play three times in the Euro's, and aside from a quiet perfromance against Spain I thought he was a wonderful little player who reminded me of Peter Beardsley, which is praise indeed.

Gonna stick my neck out and predict he'll be a big hit. No doubt somebody will quote me if he isn't so we'll see.

Liverpool are set to bid £6.5m for Spanish left-back Fernando Navarro, according to Spanish radio.
Navarro is a left-back but can play anywhere across the back-four.
26-year-old Navarro has only been at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan since joining from rivals Real Mallorca last summer for a fee in the region of €5million, with the left-back winning his first cap for Spain last year and was part of the triumphant Spanish EURO 2008 squad.
Andrea Dossena has failed to make an impact at Liverpool ever since his arrival in the summer and Navarro wold be a perfect replacement.

nice shot

With the impending home player rule we HAVE to stop buying spaniards and start developing home players.

Are we saying Rafa has no choice but buy spaniards...... this is Liverpool not Valencia, Rafa, come on lad.

Now we know why Rafa sold Finnan !!
++

Tigers' Finnan move off

Hull City's swoop for experienced right-back Steve Finnan is reportedly off after he failed a medical.

The former Liverpool defender, who has spent the first half of the season with Spanish outfit Espanyol, underwent a routine medical on Thursday.

However, Sky Sports News now understands that The Tigers will not be completing his transfer after the 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international failed the medical.

It had been reportedly elsewhere that City had already signed Finnan, but speaking earlier on Friday, Tigers boss Phil Brown stated the deal had not been finalised and was still some way from completion.

"One or two press lads have jumped the gun with regard to Steve Finnan," he told Sky Sports News. "That's a long way from being completed.

"He underwent a medical and had two or three scans yesterday on areas of his body. That is normal, he is 32.

"We'd agreed a deal with Espanyol. Personal terms had yet to be agreed. So there's still a bit to go on Steve.

"It emphasises what ballpark we're in now. We've come into the Premier League and quickly given a decent account of ourselves and because of that it's attracting the right type of player to the club."

After 20 years without winning the title that´s not the most important issue.
The priority is to win the league, (at all costs).
