its headlines on the villa website, so if it is still to happen, they are gonna look like soft cnuts again.

had barry handed a transfer request in on day one, he would be here now, but he wants his loyalty payments so he wont, and i think rafa does this to see how much the player wants to come and play for us, if your willing to forefit 2/3 mil to guarantee joining us then that shows a certain amount of desire.

obviously something barry doesn't have... or maybe o'neil knows this and is trying force barrys hand as he couldn't do it too rafa

GYBS when else has Silva impressed you ? Unfortunately, people come onto this forum too often talking up players that they've no real knowledge of.

during there cl run 06/07 season and when watching spain and valencia last year .

like i said he wasnt outstanding every game but is young and got plenty time to develop .

silva is a top player who could interchange with babel from left to right and now barry is staying at villa we shouyld use the money we have left to buy him or another top winger, whitch to be honest is what we should have always been concentrating on anyway

plus barry hasnt got long on his contract has he?? and we could probally sign him for half what villa want next season braaaaaap!!

Fair enough. I respect ye're opinions on Silva even though I remain unconvinced. If Liverpool do sign him I hope I'm back on here next summer eating humble pie.

if he did come he would be like babel last year - up and down while he gets settled - wouldnt set the prem on fire but would do a ncie steady job until he grows into the team .

I'm not convinced about Silva either, i really don't see what all all the fuss is about! He scored a cracker against Chelsea a couple of years ago, big mickeyswing!

if we cant get barry what makes you think we can get sylva..its a sad state that spurs can spend alledgedly 36million on bently and arshavin and we are stuck scrabbling for money

spurs can spend that cos we spent 20 million on keane, we are not paupers!!!
they have sold half there squad as well, thats where the moneys coming from

cause so far our net spend is around 14 something million i think - so we sell players like voroni and pennant and hopefully can bring in someone like silva

I am pleased we are perhaps not now going to invest a huge chuck of money on yet another central midfield player.

After several summers of filing to land a top class out and out wide player I just hope we can maybe bring one in with that cash or if not keep the money rather than panic buy.

Silva is an option and looks tehnically very impressive but he had a tendancy to cut inside from the right flank when I would prefer someone who can stretch a team and run up down the line at pace.

your missing the point we shouldnt need to sell to buy the likes of barry its embarrasing i wish it had all been kept quite at least that way mon wouldnt have such a big grin on his deformed face

and to think he was linked with being a possible Liverpool manager, come the end of the season he`ll be where he is now in the UEFA cup and Barry will be there with him.
