was in the pub the other day and was chatting to a Chavski fan, was quite funny.

"i don't understand it," he said, "Torres just looks miserable and uninterested all the time."

That will be painful for the fans to hear but is what eventually took him away.

This is what I don't get. Half of Chelsea's squad will probably be retiring in the next 3-4 years.

Also, Drogba and Torres is not a partnership. If they play both of them then they'll have to go back to a diamond midfield which lacks width and nullifies Lampard's goal threat. All Chelsea's success in the past has come when they play 4-3-3.

Torres decissions were selfish. Out of the Champions League, his international status would be under danger sooner than you think. He doesn't have a place in Barsa, he can't go to Madrid because that would be a double stab in the backs of Liverpool and his youth Atletico fans, and quite simply in Spain there are not any club capable of reaching the kind of money you need to have to sign up Torres.

Torres is not very smart in the other hand -- I think it's safe to say this now  -- I don't think he truly gets the passionate way you live your football passion. If he had an ounce of intelligence he would have selected his hollow words of introduction another way. He should have known better after some years in England. But as I say, I don't think he's very clever.

And you know what?

The club probably sold Torres in the right moment and at the right price. Guys like Toshack had been wanting to see his back for a couple of years. It might be relevant or not, but as he says, Torres has won no silverware for no team in all his career. Hopefully he stays that way.

yep I agree Greavsie, kunt of the highest order. He'll go to Real Madrid if they call for him - no doubt. Torres plays for himself.

5 games and no goals, no assists?  £50 million - I thank you.

is this what you're talking about?

-------------------------------------------------

Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has labelled the period during the club's takeover saga last October as 'chaos'.

The Reds were sold to New England Sports Ventures - now known as Fenway Sports Group (FSG) - in October last year following an acrimonious battle with former owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

The saga took its toll on Torres and he left Anfield in January for Premier League rivals Chelsea in January in a £50million move that has left Reds fans with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Torres knew the Merseysiders would need time to rebuild after changing hands and felt he needed to move on in order to maintain his successful career.

"I knew I was an idol for the fans but it wasn't the same any more," he told sports daily Marca.

"The institution was in chaos with the sale. There was all this talk of possible projects.

Business
"In many ways it reminded me of (former club) Atletico Madrid... a great history, many ideas but without money, it needed time. I don't have that.

"People aren't honest in the world of football. You can't say the truth or be clear with people. It's a business and nobody is anyone's friend."

Although Torres has endured an unexpected slow start to life at Stamford Bridge, the Spain international is still pleased to have made the switch.

The 26-year-old has been pleasantly surprised by the camaraderie in Chelsea's camp, stating Liverpool's squad were always serious and rarely open to sharing a joke.

He added: "Chelsea have proved they have top-level players in all departments and that they will always be competitive whatever happens, with an owner who will invest when it is necessary.

"There are more personal relationships and jokes between the players than there were at Liverpool. Everything was much more serious there. Here, you don't have to prove you are a professional, it is assumed."

--------------------------------------------------------

a joke with the players - sh@gging your best mates bird, shooting fans, selling drugs and taking tours around the ground for money

a class act they are pal - I'm sure it'll go down well with Chelsea fans to know their players just have a laugh with all their millions - no wonder they're in the sh!t eh

NEVVA - he's burnt his bridges with us worse than Owen

and if his mate Reina does the same - he can p'iss off too  :talktothehand

Here's a question. Would you take a fit Michael Owen back on a free in the summer?

I think I would

As much as i hate Torres now, he could be right about the personal relationships.  Kenny has been taking injured players etc to away European matches and things like that, and perhaps trying to get the squad to bond a bit more.

Torres is still a c.unt though :D

Exactly.

He knows he messed up and wishes he could be back, so he has to hide it by coming out with some bull saying he's happier, even tho he can't score or do anything productive at all?  Real professional.... Tho I guess that doesn't surprise me considering the manner that he left.  :glare:

Careful. Regardless of what he did, he's still a world class striker. He'll come good soon enough. I just hope it doesn't make much of a difference at chelsea.
