The Premiership - General Discussion

According to OPTA statistics, Chelsea player Fernando Torres completes more successful sulks than any other Premier league player, grumpily covering almost one mile per match.

The surly Spaniard is now the most successful sulker in the league and looks frustrated, bored or petulant for an average of 82 minutes per game, breaking the previously long-standing record set by Nicolas Anelka during his time at Arsenal twelve years ago.

"We've spent some time analysing all the data," said OPTA statistician, "and it shows that Fernando's bottom lip hangs down by his chin - like :censored: hang from a whore's - most of the time he spends on a football pitch."

"And if he can convert more sulks into full blown hissy fits he could well go on breaking records for the foreseeable future. That's how good he is."

Fernando who has been perfecting his forlorn, sullen strops for the last 18 months and is sure he can improve now that he's at a 'big' club.

"I was definitely being held back at Liverpool", Torres whined in the general direction of his mother. "With Kenny coming in the whole mood lifted and I didn't feel I could really take my sulking to the next level with everyone around me being so annoyingly positive and slappably upbeat."

"So it was no brainer in the end - I should leave and join a bunch of mercenaries who are already bitching and back-stabbing like girls at a Kerry Katona hen night, making it the perfect place to get really, :censored: moody.

"And with Nicolas [Anelka] being there I'll be learning from the master himself."
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

I think Torres will move back to Spain within 18 months, the guy has simply fallen out of love with football IMO

Here's a question.

Would anyone have him back.  If say in a season, we could buy him back for less than 20 mill, who would have him if he admitted publically he made a mistake?

Never gonna happen like, and I dont think I would.. expecially if  Carroll and Suarez start well.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I've watched Chelsea a few times now and the way Chelsea set up doesn't suit him because he loves to run in behind but Chelsea don't set up like that and he looks lost.

Didums poor Fernando.

he has looked the same for spain and us mate, not a matter of how the team is set up, its still up to the player to go in for the ball, lok at wheres he was for their first goal, standing there with his hads by his sides.

not been able to understand what has happend to him in the last year.

Torres was very poor in the game last night, had his head down most of the game and at one point had his back to the play and missed a ball being passed to him.
